Unfortunately the extra charges were due to smoking in the room. We had reached out and let you know by telephone and left a voice message. We are a 100% nonsmoking hotel. If there is any signs of smoking in the room, guests will be charged accordingly.

The cancellation policy is no less than 24 hours and is stated on the Expedia webpage prior to booking. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior as we are holding that specific room for the guest and it cannot be rented out to anyone else. Due to the timeframe,high occupancy night (New Years Eve) and cancellation policy, the card was automatically charged.
