Pauline, we are not sure why you expected a 2 bedroom unit, since the room you booked is described as a Queen Bed Suite with a sitting room and terrace. We would have been happy to provide an extra bed at no charge had you requested it. We only charge extra for additional guests. We have no 2 bedroom units, so perhaps you confused us with a different property. Upon arrival, you stated that your plans had changed and asked for a refund, however our non-refundable policy is clearly stated on our listing when you make your reservation, so we are sorry we were unable to accommodate that request. Our property is rigorously inspected and maintained, and we take great pride in providing accommodations that are impeccably clean, inviting and comfortable, with luxurious touches in a rustic setting. Our neighbor keeps a few chickens and most of our guests enjoy the charm of their gentle clucking. However, had you mentioned it, we would have been happy to move you to a different room. We take great care in presenting our property in a way that clearly represents what we offer, so that our new and repeat guests can relax and enjoy their visits in confidence.This is a rural area with gravel roads and your visit happened to fall right after a storm. The county arrived to grade the roads just a day after your visit. We provide easy to follow, detailed driving directions to all our guests, since GPS is not always accurate in this area, and most people have no trouble finding us. Perhaps a different style of accommodation would be more suited to your needs.

Darlene, I am shocked and dismayed to learn that you were so unhappy with your stay, especially since both I and my staff were on-site and available to you and your party throughout your stay. The comfort and satisfaction of our guests is paramount to us! Hotels.com should have provided you with driving directions along with your reservation confirmation so I am surprised you had so much trouble finding us. We share an access road with world famous restaurant, Corazon de Tierra, and other recent guests have not reported any issues, but I will check with Hotels.com. We do have free maps available, but I recommended the $3 map as it is very clear, making it much easier to find restaurants and wineries. All the roads in the valley are dirt roads, with the exception of the main arteries. Regarding the extra charge, you made your reservation for 2 guests. Had you made your reservation for the correct number of people, in this case 3 adults, the correct price would have been displayed. When you and I spoke on the phone prior to your stay, you said there would be 3 adults. I explained to you at that time - prior to your stay - that there is a charge of $50 per additional person per night, (maximum capacity 4), as posted on our listing, and you agreed. We provide oversized luxury Bath Towels, Hand Towels, and Washcloths for each of our guests, so I'm not sure why you state that there were no towels. Also, I checked and the bathroom door does close easily and completely. Our propane room heaters are energy efficient and safe. We have individual energy saving tankless water heaters for each room, and instructions are posted in each bathroom explaining how to turn on the faucets to insure a constant flow of hot water. Perhaps you didn't read them, but had you mentioned it to either Abel or myself, we would have been happy to go over it with you.

I have put a lot of thought into making the directions we provide are very detailed and clear, so if you have some specific suggestions on how to make them more clear, I would be grateful if you would let me know. It is very important to me to make it as simple and stress-free as possible for my guests. I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay and the decor, and found it relaxing. You are correct - we are definitely not a resort, but a place to relax and unwind, with a feeling of being "away from it all", yet just a few minutes from the many fantastic restaurants and wineries the Valle de Guadalupe has to offer. We are also within walking distance of the most renowned restaurant in Latin America, "Corazon de Tierra", and I am happy to share my recommendations and help with reservations! I am so sorry you had trouble with your vehicle. However, many of our guests arrive in regular passenger vehicles and in 10 years you are the first person to sustain any damage to their car. A truck is not necessary. We share our graded gravel access road with another very high end BnB as well as a 5 star, world famous restaurant (Corazon de Tierra), and they also receive thousands of visitors each year with no issues. As for the dogs, I apologize that they bothered you. We have a kennel for them and I am always happy to enclose them there at the request of a guest. Unfortunately, you did not mention it, and you were not here long enough for me to offer that to you, since you arrived, checked in, and left again right away to attend an event, taking your luggage and all your belongings with you. You did not return that night, and it was not until the next afternoon that you sent me a message that you would not be returning. We are a very small property with only two rooms, so we are unable to offer refunds. This is clearly stated on our property's listing, as well as on your payment receipt. We are also unable to be responsible for driving conditions. Nevertheless, I did offer you a free second night with a mid-week reservation for your next stay. I'm sorry you are unhappy, and I hope you will accept our offer for a free second night. You seemed very happy with your room when you arrived, in fact you commented that it was a very nice place, and I am certain you would have enjoyed your stay. Please join us another time.

Yes, tis' true that it costs more to visit Valle de Guadalupe than it used to, but keep in mind that you visited us during our peak season, when rates are the highest of the year, all over the area. Our midweek and off-season rates are quite a bit lower, so I hope you will visit us again when we are able to offer you a more economical stay. There are less expensive lodging options in the area, but we strive to provide a unique and exclusive experience to our guests through our personal attention to all the details that go into making a memorable stay.
