Cute inn but has some quirks
This is a cute inn with a nice restaurant underneath. Unfortunately there were a few quirks that made it not the best stay for our last night of our vacation. The wifi didn't really reach our room and so we had to use our phone service or go down to the restaurant to download things, which is kinda necessary with kids before flying. And the hot water only worked in the morning. My youngest wanted desperately a hot shower after driving for a long day and that was just not possible. The walls are thin and I was worried my kids were making too much noise and was awoken at midnight by all the rest of the guests going to their rooms. There is simply no sound proofing, which makes sense as it is an older building. I think this place is nice for those who don't have our needs, but we were only there for a night so it worked. And the whole area is very nice and historic. I think it is a great fit for someone who wants that experience in the area and is not travel weary and ready to go home.

Back a second time to this quaint inn under the watchful eye of patron Crawford. The hospitality at The Bruce is unrivalled, a good nights sleep followed by lots of exploring of the village of Falkland it’s a fantastic setting. We would come back again, but it may not be the same as the leasehold is on the market.

One night stay with my daughter and our little dog. Very lovely room, excellent service. Very polite helpful manager. Parking right outside made stay easier also after arriving later. Would definitely recommend and would stay again

Very nice stay in Falkland!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were decorated so nicely and the bed was very comfortable. There was ample space for bags too. Our only constructive criticism point would be that we weren't aware the "private" bathroom meant that it wasn't an ensuite. It didn't matter at the end of the day since we were the only people using the bathroom, but just something to perhaps clarify for guests in the future that it's not connected to your room. Great breakfast; lovely host; overall a great stay!

A good place if you want to sleep near the castle
This is a hotel right above a very friendly bar, the manager is very welcoming and the breakfast is well cooked. In addition some rooms have a direct view of the palace.

So helpfull+friendly
Have stayed in this hotel previously so know exactly what to expect, absolutely fantastic staff, so very helpfull. We were on a cycling holiday and they locked our bicycles away, no probs. Food in the evening was very good and plentiful which we needed after a days cycling😃 Rooms were very clean,bedding and towels spotless, the hotel does need a revamp but the staff are so friendly it more than makes up for it.

Great location across from the Falkland Palace
Upon arriving in our room I opened the wardrobe and a fold away bed flew out and barely missed hitting my foot but did graze my leg-no damage done, but it could have been a disaster. The young lady showing us around the room didn’t miss a beat and continued the tour of the bathroom. Check out time was supposed to be 11:00 am but we were told we had to be out by 10:30 and were told no late checkout was available to us. Not the cleanest place I’ve stayed in! Won’t go back!

Hotel was in a great location
The hotel was in a good location, clean enough, had a nice breakfast and friendly staff. I didn't realize until I arrived that the washroom was shared but it was fine. The pub stays open until midnight and so the music was loud but expected if you're staying above a pub. I'd recommend staying there to a friend but just be prepared to be up late or join in at the pub.

Dirty, uncomfortable, no food or drink available as "chef was off". Had to come and go through a back door. Owner was so rude we could not stay for breakfast. Worst hotel experience ever.

Great location, across from Palace
On the positive side the rooms were very clean, the staff are friendly, the location is fabulous and breakfast was good. On the negative, the inside of the place doesn’t live up to the outside, it needs stripped out really and redone inside, feels run down. Also the men’s toilet smelled bad when passing. The bedrooms are above the bar so they are very noisy till 12 when the bar closes.

Authentic, rustic little Inn above a pub!
Absolutely delightful! Read the other reviews and be advised that this is not a five star hotel, but a quaint, somewhat rustic little inn above a pub, complete with a bit of pub chatter emanating up through the floor. For a relatively untraveled Yank, it had the feeling of an authentic Scottish lodging experience. Highly recommended! View of the beautiful Falkland Palace directly out the window of the front, two-bed room.

Stay over for a party nearby
Great stay at the Bruce. Would recommend and stay again. Comfortable bed and pillows and lovely breakfast in the morning. Wasn’t too keen on the shared bathroom and showering facility but apart from that, excellent.

Unfriendly. Hidden charges for extra people. No rollaway bed even though it was advertised. Noisy from bar downstairs.

Nice little inn in a beautiful historic village.
The only inconvenience was the missleading address provided through ebookers.ch. We got a wrong address and could not find the Bruce Inn in Cupar because it is NOT in Cupar, 23 High Street (there is no High Street in Cupar) but in FALKLAND which is about 10 to 15 miles from Cupar. It was extremely difficult to find the Bruce Inn for us and we lost an afternoon finding the place. So please correct the address for future hosts of The Bruce Inn to: 23 High Street, Falkland, Scotland, U.K. Thank you.

The hotel is very conveniently situated for exploring Falkland. Very friendly staff. Good tasty meals. Be aware that only the 'family' room is en-suite. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Dit B&B is gelegen in een leuk middeleeuws dorpje met een paar leuke winkeltjes. Een goede locatie op doorreis tussen Edinburgh en de Central Highlands. De kamer was oké, met een comfortabel bed. Het personeel was vriendelijk en het eten eenvoudig, maar goed genoeg.

Location is great
Lovely staff who were very helpful. We stayed in the family room which was really good as there was plenty of space and had everything we needed. There is a sink in the room which is very handy due to shared bathroom facilities. Since there are only 3 rooms sharing the bathroom worked out fine. The bathroom was clean but could really do with upgrading and if this was done it would get full marks. Even though there wasn't a veggie breakfast on the menu they made one for me.

Enchanting inn in historic village
Any Outlander viewer would appreciate walking out of their B&B and finding themselves by Mrs. Baird's and the famous fountain, where Jamie's those stood. The streets of Falkland are enchanting. And then there is Falkland Castle... The inn is right above a quiet pub, where the food and service are excellent. Our room had views on the castle, and was very comfortable for a family of four. The staff was very friendly. This is an enchanting place.
