Construction view and no sound-proof
The room was very good but "construction view". Dock was under construction and noisy. There were demolished houses only near. No sound-proof so we hear big voice of next room.

Thank you for your feedback. We are improving our resort by replacing our docks from the hurricane. It does state this on our website. Not sure what demolished houses you are speaking of as there are none on our property.

This is a very well-run Keys resort property. The staff is great, the place is laid back, Porky’s for breakfast is right next door, and there is a Starbucks attached to the property. The docks, pool, and parking are all convenient, as are a multitude of good restaurants. This was a chill couple of days for us on our 3 week Florida vacation, and we throughly enjoyed it. And bonus, they are renovating (gutting) some rooms, so next season, it should be even better.

It’s a great location and you can snorkel or take a boat to their private island right from the docks outside of your room.

My wife and I were almost completely satisfied. The ONLY issue we had was significant. We stayed 5 nights in the “Stingray.” We were unpacking, setting up our room, and then after waking from a nap, we clearly heard voices. As if there were two people deciding what food to order, standing 2 feet away. I’m not talking about muffled voices, as one would expect, in any hotel. It felt like the adjacent room had a partition, rather than a wall, separating us. In between the closet and the kitchenette counter is a “wall” that had a 2”gap from the base of it, to the floor. We had to use several pillows to try to provide some degree of privacy. For us, and the other couple, (who also found themselves having to talk quietly, move gently in the room etc) as soon as They had the same realization. Unfortunately, using pillows or anything else is not an option for the bathroom… Other than that, my wife and I felt like we were in paradise! The staff are great, the entire property was clean and well maintained, and the facilities were amazing! Kayaks and bicycles are included at no additional cost. There’s a pool, and a really nice restaurant a few steps away. There’s much to do and see! We had a fantastic time! I’m sure you’ll love it too. (Just be prepared for the room acoustics. Clearly hearing your “neighbors” discuss their dinner options is something that may, or may not bother you.)

Enjoyed visiting the Turtle hospital and 7 mile bridge. Room was a little drab and didn't appear to have been cleaned very well. Good location. Lack of utensils for stirring coffee and no tea for us Brits.

We loved the location, the room, the staff, the proximity to resturants, everything was great, but they really need to up grade their mattresses, my wife and I both had a hard time sleeping, the mattress was very lumpy. Also it would be nice if there was a chair in the room instead of the stools. The grounds were very clean, and quiet, we loved our room and decore, the room was clean and tidy when we check in, and there were plenty of ammenities and things to do on the grounds. Would recomend, and stay again, but hoping for new mattress'.

For our quick drive through the Keys, we planned one night at Captain Pip's and really enjoyed all there was to do. We watched the sunset on Sombrero Beach, had drinks and appetizer at Porky's, enjoyed a very quiet night's sleep in Mermaid and took advantage of the free kayaks before leaving (very nice that we could still use the kayaks even after checking out of our room).

Great location, around really cool bars beautiful views I’m in heaven here, right before the seven mile Bridge walking distance to food, I would advise renting a car because you definitely need to travel south of here, 25 miles to key west and return back here or just stay in key west, we saw man of wars,shark, manatees, a little boy that caught 2 puffer fish, walked on the 7 mile bridge, walked 15000 steps today, great exercise, I’m in love with this area

Honest review. The place was fine. A little rough around the edges. Meaning, the coffee table in the living room area was about to fall over and the headboard on the bed was loose. The place just needs a handyperson to go around and tighten stuff up. Place was clean. Fridge was good. Stove was great. Really no complaints at all maybe just bring your screwdriver ;). Price was right the view was nice and there is a lot of stuff to do that I didn't take advantage of meaning the boating, kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling. If you want some watery adventure I'd definitely keep this on my list. I'd defintely consider staying here again... I'd just pack a screwdriver ;).

The apartments are in small, colorfull houses which makes a beautiful atmosphere. You can rent bikes, boats and kayaks. It‘s a short walk to the seven mile bridge. You can use bbq grills just outside of the House. Some renovations and utensils for cleaning dishes would make it perfect. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend!

The neighborhood was very seedy. The bed was very comfortable. Could be a very cute apartment but needs updating. Little details overlooked, like no light in refrigerator, door to apartment is very difficult to open.

Chambre nullement insonorisée. Nous avions une porte communicante dans notre chambre qui donnait sur une autre. C'est comme si nous étions dans la même chambre que nos voisins. Le personnel peu sympathique. L'horaire des expéditions n'est pas nécessairement respectée selon l'achalandage. Des frais de resort de $23 US/nuit sont facturés alors que ce n'est vraiment pas clair lors de la réservation. Très décevant de la part d'Expedia. Je réservais toujours avec eux justement pour éviter ce genre de situation.

We had a room without a balcony but many lovely places to sit outside by the docks. The room was very clean. We would stay again. If you are into walking/biking - you can go to Pigeon Key on the old 7 mile bridge (it is 2 miles to Pigeon Key on this bridge)

Many minor problems and inconveniences
We have stayed at capt pips before but not in this particular room……Loggerhead….the ceilings are very low and the room is very dark….. so dark we had every light burning day and night….we had no hot water the first night and the toilet was filling with hot water!….The ceiling was leaking and a huge puddle was on the floor . Our other rooms we have rented were not like this at all and we were dissapointed. All problems were dealt with and we still enjoyed our stay simply because love the location and we are not picky. This room was nothing like the other room we rented previously even though it was advertised the same

Excellent, but lighting in the room not very good.
This hotel was clean, but the lighting in the room was not very good. It was hard to read small print in the room
