Because of the limited characters my review will be focused on the moderate negatives, unfortunately. To get started, I give honest reviews so others won’t be surprised (good or bad) when they arrive at the location. I’m not a snob with my nose high in the air but just an average guy that works a 9 to 5 Monday thru Friday.
Here we go. We reserved a two-bedroom suite because of her snoring. Just kidding – my snoring. When you pay the prices we did for our stay ($600 Thursday, $750 Friday, $750 Saturday) there is an expectation that you’ll be lodged in a slightly upscale room with ambiance and persona. Everything is WHITE!!!!!!!!!! Immediately noticed fan blades had a significant amount of compacted dust on the edges. There was a huge hole in the floorpan of the shower that literally swallowed my heel. Both blinds in the only room that had windows were broken and the slats were pointed upwards and downwards. The buffet breakfast is ok. You have the two-bite muffins, 3 inch cinnabons, bagels, English muffins, fruit, yogurt with granola, made-to-order waffles, coffee and orange juice. Surprisingly, there were no cereal “boxes” for kids or adults that enjoy cereal. Honestly though, Key West has fantastic breakfast places (Harpoon Harry’s, Ram’s Head Southernmost) so an offering of a buffet breakfast is a nice touch. All in all we won't be returning to the Duval House. The location is prime but the facility is dated. The staff was helpful and kind.
