Less than one roll of toilet paper in the room. Breakfast (although typical for France) was all carbs and sugar not what was expected for a place this price. 20 mins from Arras. Nothing in between. More like a hotel rather than a B&B. Owner let us check in early, that was nice. But this was a coincidence. Good luck if you show up early. Room and home was clean and decorated well. Grounds were nice. Don’t bother asking for ice.

Absolutely fabulous
Wow, what an absolutely fabulous place to stay, we WILL be going back again. We arrived at the electric gate and pressed the buzzer to announce our arrival. Our host was very welcoming and waited to greet us on the steps of the front door. We had a short tour of the Chateau before being show to our lovely spacious room overlooking the front garden and fountain. They bought this Chateau a few years ago and have completely renovated the inside, and restored the outside and gardens. The outside looks like a traditional Chateau, but the inside has been tastefully redecorated with modern light colours whilst staying true to the original theme of a traditional Chateau. Just be careful not to fall down the stairs whilst staring up at the wonderful decor. You will need to go out for dinner, but we did have a number of recommendations to choose from - a nearby traditional hotel/spa with restaurant was very good. The host was available when needed but left us to do our own thing when we wanted to. The following morning we had a lovely continental breakfast and were wished a bon-voyage for the remainder of our journey.

This is a beautiful chateau which is a private residence in which the owners rent out 3 rooms. It is only B&B but the breakfast is fab. It is located about 70 miles from the Eurotunnel and provides a great stop off point to explore the area, especially if you interested in WW1 history......Vimy etc. Be aware that there is no restaurant but you can prebook an evening room tray. You will have to drive out for dinner Arras or Lens are fairly close. Very pleasant stay

wonderful little find in France
A great little find in the countryside of France, tastifully restored with a modern flavour. Room was bright and airy looking over a beautiful garden, our host was very accommodating with a fresh cup of coffee and suggestions for local dining. breakfast was neatly layout with a good select of breads, pastries and meat and cheese. Was made to feel welcome in the home.

Charming, gracious and delightful
We had made arrangements for an early arrival but then had to change flights due to the Air France strike, therefore reaching Le Chateau 5 hours earlier than we were expected. We were welcomed warmly and every effort made to assure our comfort until he room could be readied. Our host was charming, gracious, and made our stay memorable. If you are traveling nearby, do give Le Chateau a chance to make your visit memorable.

Absolutely First Class all the way
We had a wonderful stay at Le Château - Fresnoy en Gohelle - unfortunately we were only there one night. In hindsight, it's so close to so many locations that we could have enjoyed several days there. The place was just as the photos suggest - really quite stunning but also warm, comfortable and relaxing. Our hostess was very welcoming and helpful on our arrival, giving us recomendations and booking a reservation at a nearby restaurant. She then and discretely left us to enjoy our stay. The breakfast that was included was superb. It was served in the formal dinning room with beautiful linen on silver serving dishes - I almost had to pinch my self! After breakfast we walked in the lovely garden. Our visit was in November so I can only image how idyllic it must be in spring and summer.

C'était exceptionnel!
Outstanding! Jannick was a very gracious host who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and as an added bonus the Chateau was beautiful, no detail was missed. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable right down to the robes provided for use during our stay. We had a lovely view of the rear gardens from our room where there were several ares to sit and enjoy the relaxing piece and quiet. Breakfast was a beautiful array of pastries, cheeses, meats, granola and homemade yohart, fresh juice coffee tea... We enjoyed a very authentic French dinner at Air Accueil for which Jannick made our reservations and where our server Frederick made the evening, our last In France one to remember. We stayed here only one night as wanted to visit Vimy which is very near and now wish we had allowed more time at this delightful B&B. A very long review, but well deserved. If you will be in the area I would highly recommend staying at Fresno en Gohelle! You won't be disappointed.

Stunning Chateau but the host made our visit!
My husband and I stayed for two days and decided we never wanted to leave. We travelled from Toronto, Canada to go to the world war historical sites. We were surprised to learn the chateau had some rich history itself! The chateau was absolutely stunning and the grounds were breathtaking. It was central to Vimy and Arras. Most importantly, the host was basically Mary Poppins. She was absolutely wonderful - she anticipated our every need. She prepared a great breakfast, including homemade yogurt! We are definitely visiting again soon.

Amazing experience
The glowing reviews of this place do not do it justice. It is an exceptional place to stay. Jannick is a gracious host, the grounds are beautiful and the chateau so elegant. We had a lovely meal one night in the great hall. It is close to so many WW1 sights but in a quiet setting. I fully recommend anyone to stay here you will not regret it. I hope we make it back some day.

Better than I could have hoped.
I booked this stay as a gift to my wife, as it sounds truly idyllic, and the reality was as I stated "better than I could have hoped" This is a truly stunning hotel, with beautiful spotless rooms,fresh luxurious clean linen and towels, hot water roomy shower and comfortable bed, tea/coffee and an enormously welcoming host. Breakfast is typical and was beautifully prepared and presented. My recommendation is to travel a little farther into Arras for evening meal, with a wider variety on offer. Overall... If you like breathtaking architecture, with a clean contemporary decor then this is for you.

Beautiful country retreat.
I could not fault Le Chateau. It is beautiful, comfortable, extremely well-run with attention to detail. The breakfast was superb. We were served tea by the fire when we arrived on a cold December evening. The hostess was charming, friendly and helpful. Excellent.

weekend touring The Somme battlefields
We were given such a warm welcome to this charming and beautiful B&B-nothing was too much trouble. We had asked for a "tray supper", and it was 3 trays of lovely food beautifully presented. Our room was spacious, with everything we needed. It was very quiet and restful. Breakfast was splendid.

Wonderful touch of luxury at the end of our holida
A very comfortable room in idyllic surroundings. Excellent breakfast and all very welcoming. Wish we had had longer to enjoy the gardens and sitting on the terrace.
