Excellent will definitely be back
Excellent stay staff very welcoming Bill was lovely looked after us really well upgraded our room due to power trip. Breakfast was lovely 😊 overall great stay and the grounds and house are stunning putty there's not a little bar only thing we missed

Whimsical.
What a wonderful, whimsical old bnb in the heart of the Galashiels. Two minutes drive to Abbotsford house which was why we choose it but it was so much more. Beautiful gardens to sit and relax, and a house that is very obviously a labour of love. Food and town close by that is a beautiful walk. Thank you Bill for a wonderful end to our week in Scotland.

Our short stay in a beautiful mansion.
The building is lovely. The service was great. The plumbing (sinks and toilets) needs work. Our room had a perfect view of the beautiful front yard. The room itself was cramped.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Our room was a little shabby and way too small for two adults and a border collie dog! There was no room to move around or space for luggage.

Good stay for the price.
This place is older, but well taken care of. We booked a family en suite and everything was nice. The beds were clean, but the queen did have some springs you could feel in the mattress. Overall not terrible. The laundry is dried on a line so the reviews of the towels being scratchy --- that's why. Breakfast was continental, or you pay extra. The couple running it were very nice hosts. Overall good stay.

Comfortable earthy setting but no cooked breakfast
Cozy building, traditionally decorated, friendly welcome and service. But found dust ball clump on floor in bedroom, kettle was rusty inside so had to buy my own kettle to use. The t.v. didn't get a signal upon arrival. They did not advertise online that their cooked breakfast is an extra £8! So it is expensive considering you get your room only with a continental breakfast buffet - only white bread offered for toast. There was no option to get just a double room online despite only ourselves and one other couple staying that night! Very clean bedding - the place has charm and is beautifully tucked away of the main road in Galashiels.

We cannot say enough good things about our stay here. Bill the owner was the most gracious host and so willing to provide the history of the area as well as this beautiful B&B.

Hotel to bring back memories
I had never visited Galashiels before and had no idea what to expect from the hotel. One stepped straight into the past. It was so lovely to see old-fashioned curtain materials, stone water-bottles in the bathroom, ducks on the walls in the breakfast room, tiny kilner jars for the marmalade, ancient bread bin, jelly-beans on my dressing-table, deep-pile carpets and a wonderfully comfortable bed. And the china on the breakfast table was delightful, each cup and saucer different. And I was totally taken in by the books in your main foyer, all of which were French and completely fake. Clever idea !! Breakfast offered a brilliant variety of foods, well-cooked and appetizing. Outside one marvelled at the enormous conifers. Dotted around were all kinds of unexpected things, like the washing mangle, old-fashioned bicycles, your van with the pictures on it, the outside office which was full of character, as was the pavement with its arches round the back of the house. All in all you have made a huge effort to bring back the past, all of which I remember. But the quality of service was high standard and I felt really well fed after my short visit. It was also nice that our host managed to remember my Christian name at all times and made a point of talking to me.

Utrolig hyggeligt, charmerende B&B. God service, sød og venlig betjening, god morgenmad inkluderet i prisen. Vi havde fælles badeværelse, hvilket på ingen måde var et problem, meget rent og lækkert med stort badekar endda. Super til prisen!

Typiquement british et charmant
Très joli petit château dans un grand parc. Hôte charmant. Décoration recherchée. Nous avons eu une très grande chambre avec un coin salon, 2 lits de 90 cm et un canapé deplie en lit 2 places. Petit frigo dans la chambre bouilloire, etc. Bon certes la salle de bain était partagée mais elle etait impecable. Seul bémol le canapé déplié n était pas hyper confortable mais en fait je crois que les 2 petits lits constituaient le couchage principal et que le canapé n était qu' un lit d appoint. Petit déjeuner généreux inclus. Au total bon séjour.

Beautiful mansion
Great location, beautiful town, amazing breakfast and great service in general. The only recommendation for future guests is regarding bathroom: If you don't like to share it just make sure you book a suite room that has it included

Eclectic, Comfy and Cozy!
Bill was a fantastic host! We were so fortunate to find this gem on our way touring through Scotland. The decor is fun and eclectic, and the breakfast was amazing. Even the bathrooms were beautiful. We stayed in big room of twin beds with a huge snooker table in the middle. Big comfy couches, traditional hunting and gaming decor, it was a really fun way to experience Scotland.

Cute until you looked a little closer
Property initially looked very cute and had great curb appeal. When we got to our room it had a terrible odor throughout the entire room. The window would not open as the pulley was missing the rope to pull it up. Granted the building is old, built in the 1800's, but it seemed to be neglected with some important maintenance items, such as cobwebs. In the breakfast room right above where the food is set out for the buffet there was an enormous cobweb above on the ceiling. GROSS! The Bathroom shower shifted on its own between cold to scalding hot-- if you were lucky to time it correctly you could get wet during the time when it blended the 2 temperatures together. Property had a lot of potential possibilities, but definitely needed some attention.

Lovely Home, Lovely Stay
The Binniemyre Guesthouse is located a short distance from Abbotsford House. The Binniemyre has lovely grounds of its own. The breakfast was delicious. Bill was a great host. Definutely recommend a stay at Binniemyre Guesthouse!

Quaint and dellightful
Glad we upgraded to the En-suite suite. Best bed I've ever had the pleasure of staying over on. Really nice large room for my wife and child. Room overlooked gardens both sides and had plenty or space and light. a little road noise, but could cope well. Breakfast whilst "continental included", was great, and all you really need! Good location for Gala and the surrounding Borders regions. We would definitely stay again. That said, we had a slightly stilted welcome when we first turned up and the room we'd booked was certainly not worth the price reserved at (note we upgraded and it was perfect!). the house itself is slightly overgrown with pots and plants, but added to the charm (if that's what you want). Some parts of the house were in a sate of disrepair and need attention sooner rather than later I'd suggest. also a good vacuum of all the cobwebs would be nice.

What a large "family" room!
The “family room” was not a bedroom for a family. It was a large living room stuffed with a standard billiard table, 6 beds, 2 sofas, other furniture and a fireplace. The mattresses of the small beds had been well used. We could feel almost every spring in them when we tossed and turned. We knew that dawn was coming when the huge skylight started to glow around four. At 5:30 AM, first rays of the morning sun came through a large, east facing window. THERE WERE NO CURTAINS. Two “shared bathrooms” would be patronized by up to 20 persons from 7 rooms. Fortunately, we woke up early that access was easy. We couldn’t connect to the wifi. Finally, guests needed to pay extra for hot breakfast.

Accueil sympathique de Bill, content de parler et plaisanter, très gentil et serviable. Belle bâtisse, beaucoup de charme, je recommande vivement. Deux SDB communes, on n'est plus habitué à ça mais elles sont belles et propres, aucun soucis.

Typisches B&B in einer alten Villa
Reichhaltiges, gutes Frühstück. Es gibt ein großes Familienzimmer, das aber ein Bad auf einer anderen Etage hat. Wir haben dann ein kleineres Zimmer bevorzugt, weil dort das Bad im Zimmer war (also en-suite).

We had a lovely time once again at Binniemyre for a business trip. Great room and great continental breakfast.

It's OK, but....
A lovely old building in an ideal location - 10 minutes walk to the centre of Galasheil. However: Our booking confirmation from Expedia clearly stated that a Full Breakfast is included. Not so, you have to pay extra for that. The towels - well, it was akin to drying yourself with sandpaper. I note that other reviewers have commented on this, but the owner appears to disregard reviews. The house was full of trinkets etc. - some may find that attractive - to us it was over the top (I lost count of the number of ducks on the walls of the breakfast room). The real test is, would we go back?? Probably not.

We arrived late but had given a courtesy call, our room was only one on ground floor but bed was really uncomfortable, no sink or ensuite & if you needed toilet during night had to go up to first floor. We ordered breakfast thinking it was in with rate & we're not told otherwise until we came to check out where we were charged an additional £ 16 pound for two cooked breakfasts! Continental was included but why wernt we told this on arrival? The owner pointed to a chalk board where it said this but at bottom of stairs as we were on ground floor we never really noticed it! Please be aware of this as in the end paid £ 86 & with the above review left with a feeling of being overpriced. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it to anyone!
