Great breakfast
Fantastic breakfast, service and location right by Platypus Walk. A great place to stay but our rooms was hot and small with thin walls so we heard snoring from next door all night.

Thanks for our review "Anonymous" and we're sorry you found our upstairs room too hot, although there are 2 pedestal fans for use on the rare occasion a Tasmanina night is too hot, and regret we have no control over other guests nighttime noise. Home-made stewed fruits
The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom had obviously not been used (or cleaned) for a while - resident daddy long-legs spiders and webs present, some dust under the claw-footed bath and quite a dust collection under the bed. However, the towels were changed after our first night and bed made up (unsure whether sheets were changed or not). Cooked breakfast was set but good - poached eggs, toast, mushrooms, tomato, bacon. Home-made stewed fruits were delicious - rhubarb or apple and blackberry. Small/basic selection of cereals - weet-bix, cornflakes + 1 other (just right?).

Oh dear - we certainly dropped the ball in regards to the dusting there didn't we! But I can assure you it has all been rectified & we're glad you enjoyed our breakfasts, we do like to set our guests up for the day with a hearty start! Best wishes whoever you were, Karen.

Cambridge House is a lovely heritage property set in beautiful grounds which go right down to the Kermandie River. If your lucky, like us, you’ll catch a glimpse of the resident platypus. Our room, The Giffen, was spacious, immaculate & spotless. The bed was very comfortable & we slept soundly in this peaceful haven. It is handy to the shops & great restaurants in Geeveston. I recommend ‘The Bank’. Karen & Glen we’re welcoming hosts & the breakfast was hearty & delicious. We look forward to returning to stay here again & highly recommend it as a comfortable stopover.

Karen and her husband are wonderfully accommodating and thoughtful hosts. The room was beautiful and the beds very comfortable. I highly recommend this B&B.

The managers were engaging and breakfast was just great The stairs to your room were a little steep, especially with a big bag and the acoustics between downstairs and upstairs not so good but overall a great place to stay

Relax and support the locals!
Don't get me wrong this was a lovely chance to rest and relax. But the accommodation is a bit tired. Our bathroom was across the hall & wasn't convenient, especially at 3am! Also very small. The furnishings are traditional with the heritage theme, but could use some updating. As with most B&B's it was a bit noisy, you can hear the other people. Glen & Karen cooked a beautiful hot breakfast! Karen was very friendly and helpful too. There is a creek close by with is a lovely walking track. Yes we would stay here again, but ask for a different room next time. One with a bit more space. Pretty cottage, pretty garden.

You had the only room in the house that has a private bathroom, not an ensuite & the bathrooms upstairs are new but small & I'm sure you can appreciate the difficulty in fitting bathrooms in a heritage house! My friend, with whom I shared a room, and myself highly recommend staying at Cambridge House. I stayed there a couple of years ago so knew I would not be disappointed. Karen and Glen are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and set you up for the day. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean and well laid out. If you are planning on visiting the beautiful Huon Valley this is the home in which to stay and don't forget to check out the platypus playing in the stream which runs alongside their property.

Beautiful Heritage Accommodation
We had a wonderful stay our room was wonderful and very comfortable, our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was fabulous home grown fruits and yummy cooked brekkie. Beautiful gardens will definitely be back some day.

Traditional old Tasmanian house in large gardens. Nicely furnished room with large shower room. Great cooked breakfasts and a very helpful host. Difficult to improve on I would think.

Beautiful Home with Lovely Gardens
This was my first experience in a B&B and I was impressed. The home is gorgeous and the garden is beautiful. We loved seeing the platypus in the river at the bottom of their garden. The owners were warm and friendly. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Breakfast was scrumptious with cereal, toast, jams, and a selection of hot food cooked to order. Our room was comfortable and had a heater and pedestal fan but no airconditioner. We had a fridge and kettle with plenty of teabags and coffee. The bed was lovely with clean crisp sheets and we had a brilliant sleep. The ensuite was great with luxurious Sheridan towels. The shower was excellent with lots of hot water. The location is fantastic and walking distance to the park and platypus river and we also walked to a Turkish restaurant for a nice dinner. The Internet was quite good. We would love to stay here again.

Comfortable cottage in in tranquil surrounds
CAmbridge Cottage was very comfortable with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The gardens were very pleasant and we thrilled at the opportunity to see Platapus in the creek that ran alongside the property.

Beautiful period b & b
150 year old establishment with period features. Great breakfast and very comfortable room & bed. Karen was extremely helpful. Platypus in river at bottom of garden a real bonus. Geeveston is a great place to stay close to Hobart, Bruny Island & Tahune Airwalk. Would recommend both to anyone.

Cozy and comfortable
Lovely comfortable accommodation. Karen was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable and cozy, with generous luxury towels and linen. The breakfast was huge and delicious and included lovely home grown produce. The rhubarb was amazing! Beautiful surroundings and Karen directed me to see the local platypus in the river at the bottom of the garden. Recommend Cambridge house highly.

Huon experience

Beautiful old home.
We had a lovely two nights here, and were made to feel very welcome. Karen is helpful and friendly, sharing her great local knowledge. The house has loads of character, and the garden tranquil with a beautiful rivulet at the back. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Thanks Karen and Glen.

Very homely and welcoming
Loved our stay with Glen & Karen. Both were very knowledgeable and let us know what local spots we should see while in the area and were very helpful with any questions we had. Especially liked the big breakfast in the morning (will have to work them off now!) and was really happy that we'd chosen to have the Mary room as it had an ensuite. If you do stay here, please do yourself and call into the Information Centre. Linda has a wealth of information about the area and the Information Centre itself is pretty awesome. Cambridge House is located right near a stream that has platypus in it, so if staying here, be sure to check them out too.

Lovely Old World Charm
Cambridge House was a lovely stay overnight. Stairs were high (to carry our suitcases), but all good. Hosts were very hospitable. Lovely garden. Excellent full breakfast, which was included in price. Certainly value for money. Would stay again if visiting down that way again.

A beautiful historic house in a quiet setting
Delightful and quiet. historic house with self contained rooms including refrigerator and small bathroom. Staff extremely helpful, and home cooked breakfast was perfect. Combine with Taveston Sky walk or other Huonvalley activity. 1 night not enough to enjoy fully.

Great Location
Geeveston is a great place to stay, as it gives you access to many of the wonders of South Eastern Tasmania. Cambridge House is very comfortable, and has platypus in its garden. First time I have ever seen platypus in the wild! From here we visited the Air Walk and the Huon Pine Forest on the Huon River - very beautiful and then travelled south along the southern coast. Such beauty...and we were fortunate to come across an Elephant Sea on the beach of Southport. Geeveston itself boasts a very interesting information centre, an excellent café with pastries that are worth every calorie and a master sushi chef that makes sushi on Thursdays and Fridays. Nearby Franklin also has some good eating places.

Warm and comfortable
A warm and welcoming greeting awaited us, our hosts were friendly and cooked a wonderful hearty breakfast. We wondered across the lawn to the river and watched the platypus dive and surface time and time again. We loved this so much we watched them again in the early morning mist.

Nice centrally located B and B
This a lovely heritage listed home, tastefully decorated to suit its age. The hosts were warm and welcoming and did everything possible to make a stay more comfortable after a small problem. The breakfast was exceptional and the walks close to the home were fantastic.

Karen (the host) is super nice. She was patience to wait for our coming even though we arrived late. She prepared a very yummy breakfast and the overall feeling is fantastic.

Very relaxing stay. Claw foot bath, comfy bed and delicious hot breakfast. Platypus viewing was a real bonus. So close to Airwalk and Hastings Caves. The sushi in town was incredible and the restaurant in Dover was top notch. We will be back!

Have stayed in B&B's allover UK etc...this one of the very best! only overnight stay , but was an excellent B&B. Hosts were very friendly, nothing was a bother and very informative, advised us of best times to visit local attractions. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Tolle Hauherren, tolles Frühstück.
Die Hauherren waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück (eingeschlossen) hervorragend. Vielleicht hatten wir Pech mit dem kleinen Zimmer, dazu war es heiss; nur mit Ventilator.

Award winning Cambridge House
I can understand Cambridge House and its owners winning Trip Advisor awards. The owners are friendly and obliging; their home is as clean as a whistle and the decor is perfect. breakfast was hearty or healthy as you desired.

What a find!
Cambridge House was beautiful. Such a wonderfully relaxing spot to unwind after a very busy day of sightseeing and walking. We loved the quaint bed room, beautiful gardens (with a platypus in the property's stream) and friendly hospitality. We felt at ease at all times during our stay. We particularly enjoyed the home-cooked breakfast and stewed rhubarb, which was grown on site. Perfection!
