A great place to relax near Lake Superior. I loved the 90 year old lodge, its beautiful and clean. They even had a real fire crackling in the fireplace down stairs when we were there. We visited in the winter, it was a short drive to Lutsen mtn during the day.

Wonderful experience
Awesome experience. Great location. Greatly appreciated the equipped kitchenette. Nice location, trails and excellent restaurant. We'll definitely be back next time we go to the North Shore.

We stayed in the lodge. The room was spacious and clean. The ambiance in the guest lounge on the main floor was cozy and welcoming. The restaurant across the parking lot was terrific.

My room was small (not a problem, usually) but there was no desk, or chair, or microwave (the only one in the building was in the basement, I believe). The bath/shower hot water faucet would not shut off completely.

Book somewhere else
I stayed in cabin 5B. I had booked for 2 nights but left after 1 night. There is rustic but the furniture looked like something picked up off of the side of the road. I had a floor heater but it ran constantly and only put out cold air. I tried adjusting the thermostat on the wall but that didn’t help.There was a table but no light on it and overall lighting was poor. Never could get the tv to work and was unable to use the directions to get any WiFi service. It was a very, very disappointing stay. Oh, the one positive is the restaurant was very good. I regret not taking pictures of the room.

Lovely Lake views
A lovely experience as we stayed in a remodeled room facing the lake. Highway 61 right in front is busy but we kept our windows closed, so this became less of an issue. This is a beautiful part of northern Wisconsin and the lodge captures the feeling of the lake.

It was a very nice room. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. They were booked but we didnt hear anything or anyone. Beds were comfortable, soft and cozy. Slept well. Staff was amazing. Would highly recommend. Lake was across the street, restaurant had good food. Would stay there again.

Great location but disappointing accommodations
The cabin we stayed in was in need of repair, it was a “pet friendly” unit, the carpet was filthy and the smell was horrible.

Our stay in Sept 2023
We stayed upstairs in the lodge. It was very warm and no air conditioning but thankfully the night cooled off by bedtime. Tv service was a little unreliable but we got it to work finally. The girl at the desk was very helpful and friendly, the man, not so much. Liked the lakeview and walking area with tables.

I was shocked to find they did not have heat in the cabin until October. It was freezing in September. However when asking the clerk why the heat would not turn on he said there was a space heater in the closet and that seemed to be adequate plus the comforter was really warm.

I lovely location; quaint and clean cabin with everything you need. The view of lake superior is delightful and convenient to walk to if you care to sit on the sand and watch the sunrise or sunset. And the property is definitely child friendly as it has a playground and even the ball and cornhole, which is delightful for adults, as well. There is a restaurant on site, which is part of the property. That makes it convenient and has great food and service, as well

Hotel was cute and quaint. Drawback, no air conditioning, windows were open to draw a breeze in from Lake Superior. Having the windows open also brought in the highway noise!

It’s an old lodge, with no air conditioning. They provided a fan, which we put in the window. But the noise from the trucks and motorcycles on Hwy. 61 kept us up most of the night.

We loved our small but delightful cabin, and only wish we'd had a longer stay in order to enjoy the hiking trails and shoreline that Cascade Lodge offers. The adjoining Cascade Restaurant offers delicious meal options in a clean and rustic atmosphere. We had a wonderful supper and doubtless would have loved the breakfast options as well, had our stay been longer. We would definitely stay at Cascade Lodge again in the future!
