I believe this property exceeded my “value” expectations. I was traveling on a budget and Red Roof Inn helped me to afford this trip. I received a clean room, quiet environment at a very reasonable price. I would stay at this facility again.

Unusually dirty and sketchy
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I only saw 2 employees during my entire stay; so it may have been a staffing issue... I had a hot shower, but that's where the positives end. It looked like the room wasn't properly cleaned before my check-in. Dust, debris, and even a used band-aid all over the floor. The microwave likely hasn't been cleaned in years, the heat/AC unit was in disrepair, the shower drain was clogged, there was a hole in the the wall, and bloodstains on the bedding. And judging by the placement of said stains (along the top edge), I'm guessing that blanket has seen some things it wishes it could forget. Red Roof is usually a solid budget hotel chain. I was pretty surprised I ended up with such a sketchy room.

Had I been able to see the very poor, unclean, damaged room before I paid for it online I'd have just slept in my car at a rest area. The room smelled like mildew and urine. Shower was filthy. There was chipped paint everywhere. Knats and flies on every wall. Curtain wouldn't close bc it was broken until I tied it up with a rubber band. Definitely disappointed and upset that I paid to be uncomfortable and anxious/worried about seeing other kinds of bugs or not.

They took out $116.00 for incendiary hold when I checked out they put it back in my bank account and the next they they took it back out now they won’t refund it at all. Watch your bank statements

I've stayed at many hotels this year, and this is one of the most disgusting ones I've had the displeasure of staying at. Near the outdoor stairs that ascend to the second floor was a man sitting in a hotel chair outside of a room smoking cannabis. As I entered the room, I noticed the rug at the door was very ragged and messily stuck to the floor. There were paint chips all over the rug. The towels looked use, and although the room was booked for two, there were barely enough towels for one person. One of the towels appeared to be used to dry hands at the sink. All towels and the sheets looked dingy. There appeared to be blood splattered on one of the table lamps, and two spots on one of the bed's sheets. The toilet and tub had not been cleaned. There was residue of feces in the toilet and on the rim of the seat. I laid my jacket across the bed to lay on, because I didn't trust the cleanliness of the bed. It looks like the just don't clean around there, and the complimentary coffee station was unforgivably disgusting. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. The good thing was it was one night to get some sleep. The bad thing was, I woke up with some type of bug bites burning and irritating my back. This was a one night stay for $80 at a hotel that should have been charging $39.00 tops per night. I am surprised at Red Roof Inn. I used to consider them one of the cleaner and more contemporary places to stay. No phone in the room, but questionable looking folks on site.

Upon arrival a gentleman in a whellchair warned us not to stay there he said it's noisy and unclean. We checked in and the lobby was dirty and smelly....but decided to give the benefit of the doubt. However the stairs to out room were not well kept and filthy. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and mold. Not our idea of a good time. We choose not to stay as along with the above complaints it was very sketchy place and felt unsafe

The property had people camped out outsidenof rooms with people coming and going. The AC/heater didnt have knobs and was non-functional, the phone was tacky & sticky, only 1 towel in the room and the room smelled like smoke...a non-smoking room. Overall NOT what i exspected. My daughter and i did NOT feel safe either, so we left.

This time we stayed in a room that was filthy. For a recently remodeled place the ceiling was leaking. The ac unit was so broken it has holes where the buttons should be and couldn't even blow air. There wasn't even coffee and the drug residents were horrifying

If it hadn't already been almost 2am and I had been traveling literally all day, I would have left, but I was just staying one night after a very late flight. The floor of the room was sticky, mold in the shower, air unit control panel completely ripped out so I had to unplug it so it would stop blasting freezing air (it was 60 degrees that night). Looked to be a place where people rent rooms long term for their proximity to the highway, so there was some sketchy activity late at night. Absolutely the worst 'low-cost' one night stay experience ever, do not recommend.

The first room i was asigned smelt like something had died in there. Then was assigned another room they just had made the beds(sheets were not washed). I would never stay there

The african american lady at the desk was rude and condensending to everyone. Chose to not stay there and went to another hotel.

The staff was INCREDIBLY kind, plesant and friendly! The actual room was gross. The first room was not clean & smelled like dogs. The second room was cleaner but the AC unit was broken. It worked but we had to guess how to turn the knobs.

Too many "long term" people.
I have stayed at this unit for years when I'm in Grand Rapids. More and more it's becoming a long term stay hotel. People gathering every night smoking and drinking. I'm afraid I'll be staying somewhere else next time.

This place is disgusting even for a budget motel. Picture a place where you take a sex worker to do drugs. The first room we were offered hadnt been cleaned at all - full garbage, unmade beds, etc. The very friendly front desk attendant gave us a different room, which had at least been cleaned, but there was still a large brown stain on the mattress. Filthy, loud, and sketchy.

However, I am disappointed that your experience did not meet your expectations as you indicated the first assigned room was not cleaned and the bed wasn't made. Please accept our sincerest apologies, but I'm elated that our front office staff was able to change your room which was a little cleaner than the first. It is important to know that we thoroughly clean and inspect all rooms in between guest, so I am disappointed that we fell short on your visit. In an effort to have your concerns addressed, we will be taking your comments in to consideration and address the matters with the appropriate department.At Red Roof, it is our intention to have your confidence in our abilities to prevent similar problems in the future. I really liked how close to the highway it was as well as dining options and the price. The only thing I didnt care for were some of the neighbors being loud and obnoxious, vut the hotel cant really help that.

The property is NOT clean! The floor was gross, our room looked like it had not been cleaned. We had NO pillow cases, when we asked we were told we have them before night. (Mind you it was 7pm when we asked) Would not recommend at all!
