Welcomed by a ripper of a bloke Paki from New Zealand. Made us feel more than welcome. The property was fine for us and I had no problems with it however on the down side you need to be fit to climb the hill to the cabin unless you use your car all the time. The setting was perfect nestled into the hillside with a caravan park either side. A river runs close by and the ocean can be heard easily. You are surrounded by gum trees so nature on your door step.

My first stay in an eco tent, and it could not have been happier or more comfortable in its simple, no-fuss way. The view over the valley and birdlife provided constant pleasure, added to in the early evening by kangaroos nd the bush track below. A true retreat.

My partner and I stayed at the cottages and had the best time! The location is in a perfect spot, literally walking distance to the main part of Lorne and close to everything you need. The cottages themselves are also so nice, very clean and well equipped. The general manager (paki) is also the biggest legend and made the stay so easy for us. Would definitely reccomend and we will be back!

My friends and I loved our stay at the cottages! Paki was super friendly and helpful, our cottage was cute and it felt like we were on a treetop escape! Such a great location too, parked the car then could walk everywhere!

Beautiful gardens and outlook, really quiet and private. The cottages are willing distance to the town and beach and have everything you could need for a relaxing stay. We'll absolutely be back!

nice staff but very unclean cottages
Simplicity is fine as Kong as everything is clean. This cottage was definitely not clean. I would not come back here. The reception was very nice though, and very personal and friendly.

So much character!
Fantastic cabin and awesome location - quick walk into town. Really comfy beds and the mezzanine was fun for the kids. Paki and the team were lovely - friendly, helpful and so very welcoming. Definitely need a return visit here!

The property is located within a walking distance to all that Lorne has to offer. A quick drive will get you to experience some amazing walks, ending with refreshing splashes of waterfalls bouncing of your face.

The garden/bush setting of Great Ocean Road Cottages makes it feel like it is further away from the town that it really is. Mostly we could hear birds rather than cars or people. It was very peaceful. But it is only a few minutes walk to the main supermarket and 5-10 minutes to the beach and main shopping/restaurant area. My only caveat is that a couple of the beds in the family cottages are on a mezzanine level with steep stairs, which would not be suitable for everyone. If you only plan to use the downstairs double bed this will not be an issue.

By far the best hospitality that I have ever recieved. The general manager was incredibly accommodating and very much cared about our experience. After talking for a few minutes, he gave my wife and I a bottle of wine. Place is very cute, cozy. Heaters worked great, no issues with wifi, hot water was plentiful

Lovely peaceful surrounds and very helpful staff. There was even a resident koala. Nice walk to town too

Relaxing
The experience was excellent over apart from walking into room that smelt like curry due to microwave not being cleaned. To their credit this was rectified promptly and the rest of the stay very enjoyable, staff helpful, room comfortable and surrounds peaceful and relaxing.

Great scenery and the sulphur crested cockatoos are fantastic. The cabins are great and comfy too.

Comfortable cottages close to town
Whilst the cottages are within walking distance to the township and beach, the location had a real bush setting. Kookaburras, cockatoos and even a koala! Great location!

Beautiful hotel close to everything!!!
Nice and close to shops, beach and supermarket is just a couple of minute walk down the road. Beautiful spot in the trees, cockatoos are very friendly. Only negative things I could say is that it is parking isn't the best but other than that o highly recommend! !!

Nice and relaxing place to stay
The cottage is well equipped, especially the utensils in the kitchen were sufficient! This is a nice and self-contained cottage, with very friendly staff if you need help. Everything was excellent, except the wifi is limited to the reception area. We enjoyed our stay there very much!

Everything We Needed
Stayed for the weekend with a 4 and 5 year old. Kids loved the mezzanine bedroom and had no problem getting up and down the steps. We had the family cottage number 1, (which had the wooden steps and a rail instead of ladder) Room was clean and cosy, the views were beautiful as was the birds who greeted us on the balcony (please don't be tempted to feed them) I loved all the windows, everyone had a lush green garden and bush view. The location was ideal, we walked to shops and the beach and handy supermarket right nextdoor. The only thing that dissapointed us was the bque facility's or lack of. We brought meat and salads to cook for our Saturday night dinner only to find a rusty, dirty bque and an empty gas bottle attached. It was too late to go find somewhere else to cook and we were starving so we had to go out for dinner down at the Italian resturant (which I dont recomend due to its very limited menu) Overall I would stay again, the road trip into the Otways and Beech forest waterfalls was our highlight! Erskine is nice but I highly recomend delving in further if u have the time.

Close to town and no particular ocean views, but terrific anyway. We liked the layout of the cottage, the bed was very comfy, the owners helpful and friendly.There are beautiful gardens and lots of native birds. We thought the value for money was excellent and would definitely recommend these cottages, especially for stays of a few days or longer.

Quite and peaceful
I was here on a business trip and would recommend this charming villa to anyone,clean comfortable and quite,everything you would need for a lovely stay. Spotless and very comfortable bed.

Great cottage, wonderful setting
Cottage had sweeping views across to the ocean, was roomy inside and provided a great place to enjoy the beauty of Lorne. Although our stay was wet and wintry the cottage allowed us to be warm inside and enjoy the views and wildlife that came up to the verandah.

It was relaxing and amazing
We absolutely loved staying there it was amazing, being among the trees and nature , being visited by cookaburras, parrots and cockatoos made it an experience to remember , in a warm cosy cottage, definitely go back again. Perfect location, hidden away yet close to everything in town. Thank-you.

Relaxing
We were greeted with a friendly and helpful Manager. Our room was ready to go with heater on which was lovely. We had a great spot. We had trouble with our TV and I wanted to watch a particular show so to my delight we were allowed to use another room to watch this show. To me this shows great customer service. Thank you so much for making our stay great!

The location was great and scenery superb, but unfortunately the bed was horribly uncomfortable, and the couch also. Great for price however.
