Beautiful Hotel
Lovely room overlooking the river, very comfortable bed, big shower. The hotel is beautiful decorated, with indoor sitting areas and plenty of room on the veranda to watch the passing boats.The manager is very friendly and helpful always with a smile. We would stay again, walking distance to the Main Street shops and restaurants and to Griffiths island to explore. We stayed 3 nights.

A great location close to town centre and restaurants. Friendly and helpful team and delicious breakfast. Lighting for reading in the rooms could be improved and full length mirror would be useful. Oscars has a wonderful ambience and would highly recommend to others seeking a peaceful escape for a few days.

We liked lots of things - quiet, cosy, spotlessly clean, wonderful view, wonderful location. Outstanding welcome and service from Judith Artis. Calm, relaxing, elegant. We cannot fault this hotel. It is better than it looks in the photos!

Small bathroom
Ours was a one night stay. The only disappointment was the size of our bathroom which seemed almost in a broom cupboard. It was functional but this was room 3, upstairs with a view over the Moyne River. We have stayed in other rooms at Oscars where the bathrooms have been much bigger and better.

Stay at Port Fairy, end of the Great Ocean Road
The location in town is very good. It is “on the water” but the water is the river, not the ocean. As far as I could see, there no hotels on the ocean. The building is a former private home. It is beautiful on the outside and on the main floor - there is a large, hospitable common room. The breakfast room looks out over the boardwalk, and breakfast was great. The reason for my lower rating is that our room, itself, was small and extremely plain and dated.not sure if the town is just that expensive, but for the money it cost, we expected the room to match the beauty of the rest of the building.

Very good place to stay with excellent breakfast and comfortable bed. Bathroom on the small side with water temperature a bit intermittent. Will definitely stay here again and love all the surrounds.

TOP LOCATION
Oscars is expensive, but our two nights were excellent. The breakfast could not be faulted. It's a grand old building overlooking the Moyne River and is in a top location, being able to walk to the several good restaurants in this fascinating old township, full of quaint buildings. the hotel is clean, comfortable spacious. Maybe the price is a bit over the top.

We were looking for a getaway where we could relax, even though we only had one night, it was very relaxing, very private if you wished it to be and no intended interruptions. You felt welcomed in a quaint environment, Port Fairy has old world charm, as did this lovely house.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful, Richard made our dinner reservation which was a real treat, plus him and his wife provided a delightful freshly cooked breakfast, we were totally spoilt, thank you.

Beautiful location, tasteful accommodation.
If you are looking for a place in Port Fairy I would not hesitate to recommend this boutique hotel/guest house. Quiet, beautiful rooms and very welcoming staff. Lovely location by the inlet, nature reserve island very close and small beaches. Local restaurants for dinner (no restaurant or bar in the hotel but great breakfast is served). We had the suite room in the annex...very happy with it and would recommend.

Great welcome and information on the town. Facilities very clean and comfortable. Fabulous location with a great veranda overlooking the river. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Will go back for a longer stay.

Disappointing
The hotel is in a lovely building but I found our waterfront room really disappointing. The bathroom is so small there is almost no room to turn around and nowhere to put anything. There is no tea and coffee facilities in the room, you have to go downstairs and then carry them up. Breakfast was fairly limited and not what I would expect for a hotel charging these prices although the hot items chosen were nicely cooked. No extra toast and jams available and the coffee pots were too small and we had to keep making another one when one large pot would have been better. Overall the hotel felt a bit stuffy rather than relaxing. The clientele were mostly over 60.

Breakfast a bit late...
Breakfast at 8:30 is too late for early risers who want to begin driving the Great Ocean Road in the early morning light. It would have been nice to have fruit available for thise who didn't wish for such a late start.

Good Location.
Overnight only in a courtyard room. Did not really have time to appreciate the property. Location of main house good, but courtyard room a bit expensive given its location. Breakfast in the sun on the waterside terrace was a treat. Property a short pleasant walk from the quaint town centre.

Peaceful and luxurious
Lovely luxurious bed and breakfast boutique hotel in a great location with amazing view over the river. Delicous healthy breakfast. Public areas are inviting and quiet and access to real tea and coffee at all times is a great feature. Comfortable bed and room although ensuite is very small without shelves or hooks for toiletries and clothes. Wifi excellent. A relaxing place to stay.

Olde worlde excellence
An excellent olde worlde boutique hotel by the marina. Quiet location. Only single rooms I think but upstairs large. Pleasant views from upstairs rooms. Not a place for children. Great shower with double size for two people and separate shower heads. Floors creak upstairs. Interesting guest lounge facility. Lots of timber units (tv cabinet etc).

Luxurious hotel at reasonable rate at end of GOR
Wonderful luxurious B and B/ hotel at reasonable rates at end of Great Ocean Road. Relaxing on the river in lovely small town, felt very welcomed and well looked after. Would highly recommend in any season
