Honestly when I first got off the cab, I was like oh bot where did I come to. The hotels around the convention center (in NOLA) was ridiculously expensive so I budgeted and booked this hotel sight unseen. What I didn't know was, it's actually on the other side of the river, so you gotta cross the bridge to Gretna area. Still some distance. Now booking a cheap hotel that's far to the convention center, I was really upset. I checked in, I was given the key and directed to the rooms. It's classic motel setup. Common courtyard with a pool, U shaped 3 buildings and all room doors are basically looking at the courtyard. It looked old, beat up, even creepy. I came to my room, put the key in and opened the door.
Wow! This room is clean! My bed was nicely made with a note on it, I have a coffee maker, refrigerator, cable TV, vanity sink with enough counter space and a hair dryer. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, 2 sets of clean towels and a spotless bathroom, toilet and bathtub. I couldn't believe it was THAT clean. AC was already on full blast so it was chilly. I took a shower and had an awesome night sleep.
The hotel has complimentary breakfast. Eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, waffle maker, nutella, pb, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, coffee and decaf, tea.. There's also a coffee machine in the lobby.
I stayed there for 5 nights and I totally enjoyed it. I would come again.PS. Cab ride to Convention center is around 9 bucks.
