The location is great. We were a larger group, so we stayed in the cottage. The place was old, musty and in need of renovation. There were spider webs in the corners, dead sand flies on the windows, and we found a spider on the pillow. We noticed that other, smaller units were newer or newly renovated, so if you can stay there, you will be pleased. Unfortunately, for us it was not a good experience.

Location, location, location! Wonderful property right on seafront (behind seawall). Well appointed cottages. Appreciated screens on some windows. One minor complaint, cottage was dusty and bedcovers were musty. But if you want a true back to nature stay without giving up modern comforts, this is your place.

Small group of “cottages” right on the water which can be a little noisy depending on the waves. Cottage was clean and well equipped, only negative is that wifi was poor at best, at times didn’t work at all

Went to get milk for the coffee and found it was opened sometime ago. Should have been new not a half used one. Shower didn’t drain so the bathroom flooded. I did tell the staff and they seemed receptive to me telling them. Just average but good value for money

Checking in was a bit difficult since the manager was not on site but two blocks away at a restaurant. So it took us far too long to get to our cabin. Much of this was inadequate signage on the site. The facility was neat and clean and comfortable.

Our stay was great. Property was clean and had a comfortable sitting area with kitchen. Location was close to the attractions we wanted to see. It was a bit hard to find and unclear how to check in at first but then realized we had to go to local restaurant for check in. Limited shopping in area, so come prepared with any groceries you need.

Good stay
We had a large two bedroom house. It was very spacious and comfortable. My only complaint would be that the bathroom didn’t have any counter space and no hairdryer.

This place was conveniently located next to the pancake rocks but the actual buildings were rather run down and in deed of renovation.

Wonderful Experience!
This was our favorite place of the trip. The view was absolutely gorgeous - caught the evening sunset - beautiful. Location is right on the beach. We arrived a little late for check-in but they graciously accommodated us at the restaurant. They even cooked us food after they had closed the kitchen. Wonderful people, very courteous. Also went out of their way to make us special coffee. Would highly recommend. Would love to visit again.

Very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Great location with a gravel road along the ocean and very near to the hotel. Lovely to have a small kitchen with a kettle, toaster, frig and milk, coffee, tea etc. Great stay! Thank you!!

In this area, this is the only motel but even then the owners have made an excellent effort to have modern and comfortable room. A few steps from the seashore, the views are million dollar views. After dinner sunset on the beach just a few steps from the property was just amazing. Room was very comfortable. Highly recommend it.

Great little 3 bedroom family unit for 6 or 7 people. Had everything we needed. Listening to the ocean while sleeping was bliss. Pub Kitchen was being renovated so a very limited menu which made it hard when arriving late but understandable. Lovely owners, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Good value, clean, Comfortable, well equipped one bedroom unit Walked down to beach to the nearby hotel for dinner - where incidently is where you need to check in. Not right on the beach but lulled to sleep by sound of the waves Would definitely recommend

Gorgeous
The cabin was sooooo nice. Airy, light and spacious. Even with the torrential rain, we were warm and cosy and did not feel closed in. When it isn’t raining the walk along the breakwater is stunning. Easy walk to the local pub for a delicious meal. Easy quick drive to pancake rocks. Wish we had stayed longer.

Room's Clean, excellent services. Had Dinner at Punakaiki Rocks hotel and Gardens bar: steak cooked to perfection, yummy chocolate pudding. Would highly recommend.

Great location. This property has so much potential. We found it could do with a good clean. The kitchen utensils/plates and cups were dirty. Checkin was confusing. You had to check in at the pub up the road.

Perfect stop along the west coast
Loved this place. Perfect overnight spot traveling along the west coast and right next to the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. Cottages were comfortable and spacious and well equipped and sunset views on the beach were unbeatable. We enjoyed the restaurant bar and David and staff were wonderful. Highly recommend.

Tasteful and very homelike in it's decor. Thoughtful touches including heaters, blankets and electric blankets added to how lovely the property was. Set in incredible scenery nestled between the beach and massive rock formations. Great coffee at the pub 2 min drive. Close to Punakaiki cavern and pancake rock. Disappointed to not stay longer

We arrived late. Relaxed on garden back porch. Kitchen had the basics for quick bite and coffee in the morning. Walked an angry beach in the morning and saw Punakaiki pancake rocks in the distance. Room was a little tired but, clean. Looked like typical beach front cottage. Met our needs.

Unit is very nice, attention to detail. Checking was confusing as the resort had no record of the booking, issue was resolved with a number of phonecalls by staff. We’re very helpfull.

You have to go to a bar up the road to get your key for check in. The place is old and in need of some severe TLC . The floors are unleveled the head of the bed is 2-3 inches li wet than the foot and the furniture is reminiscent of the thrift store. The closeness to pancake rock is really the only thing this one has going for it.there are towns close enough that you. Ours do better for your an accommodations .

Ein älteres augenscheinlich komplett renoviertes Ferienhaus direkt am Strand (hinter einem Schutzwall vor der teilweise starken Brandung). Wohnung ist geräumig mit 6 bequemen Betten, liebevoll und geschmackvoll Dekoriert. Wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt, auch wegen dem alten Holzfußboden... Bad auch neu renoviert. Gaben den traumhaften Sonnenuntergang genossen. Sehr nah an den Pancakerocks, man schaut darauf. Küche mit allen erforderlichen ausgestattet ... würden gerne wieder kommen

This was the only available room in the area when I booked so I was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised that this is a very nice place! Clean, modern, comfortable. I would recommend staying here. Only issue was a weak wifi.
