I am disabled and rely on a mobility scooter.
Cons:
Ramp to terraced garden was difficult to negotiate but fortunately I can walk a few meters so parked the scooter by the ramp.
Couldn't fit my scooter in the room so parked in the corridor.
Food and dirty dishes left outside all afternoon.
Chips not cooked properly with sandwich.
Food pricey and poor menu choice.
Disabled facilities by swimming pool very shabby and locker door hanging off the hinges though this was fixed two days after I reported it.
Poor wifi in my room.
Pros:
The hotel is in a beautiful setting with some incredible trees.
The main corridor on the ground floor was ramped perfectly for every change of level. Very easy to get to my room (110) at the far end of the building. Access through the bar and main entrance was also excellent.
The room was small but clean and functional and the bed was very comfortable. I slept very well. Very warm temperatures while we were there, but our room was cool and a fan was provided.
All the staff were lovely, cheery and happy to have a little chat, this really adds to the atmosphere of this very impressive building.
The swimming pool was excellent. A good size and again, the staff were great.
Overall, I wouldn't let the few negatives put me off and will definitely return. Highly recommended.
