Loved staying here and will be back. Really friendly owner who made sure I was given all the information I needed. Really made to feel comfortable. I shared a twin room which was really tasteful, extremely clean and more than enough space for two of us. Highly recommend! Thanks for having us.

Nice cosy very clean rooms in quiet rural location. Tesco and restaurants only a few miles away.

Very enjoyable stay with very friendly staff and good food. Family friendly in village location. Plenty of parking and nice rooms.

Stunning Boutique Hotel on the country side
Stunning countryside beauty. Boutique hotel with the most professional staff. The food for breakfast is rich in freshness. The staff is absolutely attentive to guest detail. Will book again anytime traveling on that part of the big island.

Very nice hotel if you have a car
Had to stay 2 nights to attend a convention nearby. I booked this very last minute. The room was very comfortable and clean. bathroom was very clean too. Great breakfast. The garden in the back was a so quaint to sit in before breakfast. Although I found out I paid a lot more than some other people attending the same convention who had booked through a different site. Area lacked public transport.

Very nice location and Inn presents well
We had a very nice stay. Staff are friendly and so welcoming. Very good restaurant with delicious food.

Execellent value for money, a lovely place to stay
We stayed for 1 night with friends. The hotel, bar and restaurant has been done out in a lovely modern country decor as well as the rooms. The rooms aren't huge but ample for what you need. We had breakfast the following morning which was delicious. Great traditional English breakfast and lovely continental to choose from. Safe parking onsite. All in all a good find and we would stay there again.

Exceeded expectations
Fabulous rooms above a lovely little local pub. The rooms are of a very high specification and are spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there - hospitality tray, hairdryer, power shower, nice range of toiletries etc. Continental breakfast was good, with crusty bread and good quality jams and marmalade. Didn't opt for the cooked option as we're not big on fry-ups, but this is available at £5 per person. One minor hiccup- the website advised check in between 3pm and 10pm but this should read 5pm and 10pm. we arrived at around 4ish to find it all locked up. No big problem as I know the area quite well and whiled away the time, but perhaps a quick tweak of the website would help.. Otherwise faultless. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Pleasant pub stay, close to Odiham
We needed a room for a night close to some friends in Odiham and spotted the Poacher. We had a friendly welcome and were immediately shown to our room which was clean and had a nice clean en-suite shower room. Rooms are a little on the small size, but perfectly adequate for a short stay (no wardrobe space provided). Also be aware there are some reasonably steep stairs up to the floor where the bedrooms are located. Overall we would stay again.

Conveient and clean pub/hotel.
Nice welcome. Barman is the whole package. Receptionist, barman, waiter, room service etc. Order your breakfast when you check in? Odd one that. Room was cosy. Shower temperamental. Food ok, ale excellent, service good. VFM!

Completely met our requirements
We are a mature age couple and the Inn met our requirements at an acceptable rate. Good location, good service by friendly well trained staff, bedroom and en suite compact but workable.

Beautiful pub with wondrous rooms and amazing food
The room was warm,comfy and well kept with tea, coffee and biscuits. The food was first class and a great place to stay, wonderful!!

Nadia and her team made us very welcome . The bedroom and bathroom are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated . There is also shower gel and shampoo with gorgeously soft thick white towels . Good selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate , fruit teas is just what you need after a long journey or day out . If you need anything you just have to ask , you can't ask for more than that .

Rural stay
Stayed for 2 nights. rooms were compact but clean. Ensuite bathroom had showers which were slow.Not a power shower as one would expect. Comfortable double beds with soft pillows. The only downside was the continental breakfast on a Sunday morning which was left in the fridge the night before.We were very happy with the cooked breakfast provided on the Saturday morning at the Post Office/Village shop.But next day it being closed was a disappointment.I wish they would make this clear before you book. Otherwise was an okay stay.

No Restaurant!
Room was fine however When I booked online it was not mentioned that the restaurant was out of action. This meant after a long day I then had to drive to another pub for diner and also no breakfast.

Stayed in far better for a lot less cost... Nice modern room, quite small, with small en suite shower room, but large power shower, very comfortable bed, disappointed that there was not the standard kettle in the room but a coffee maker, ok if you have any of the pods for it, I had to ask for these (received just 2) along with tea bags but tea is just not the same through this machine. Another disappointment was the breakfast, this is cornflakes, yogurt, a warmed up pastrie and some milk delivered the night before and kept in the small fridge in the room, so note that there is no cooked breakfast. The wi-fi in the room was hit and miss, but worked ok in the main bar area downstairs. Nice pub, good ale and excellent food choice at reasonable prices. Gave up with the WI-FI -

Great stay if you don't want a cooked breakfast
i often stay in pubs rather than hotels as the atmosphere, food,drunk and costs are much more favourable! The Poacher Inn is no exception to this with a fantastic menu, consisting of wonderful meat and game and other great dishes. The welcome was very nice and the pub is very clean and tidy with the bedroom was very comfortable indeed. The only reservation I have is the continental breakfast that is delivered to your room the night before. I would rather pay more and have a cooked breakfast in the pub itself as this is one of the best parts of staying in a pub that serves great food! Apart from this, a lovely stay.

Not the usual, but a nice place to stay
The Hotel was very nice and clean, just not the usual I expect. The hotel doesn't have a reception as such you need to visit the Pub bar to collect your room key. There doesn't seem to be a master key for the cleaners to get access to your room, as you need to post it through the letter box in the morning. The wifi in my room (room 4) wasn't great as it kept dropping out because of week signal. The breakfast is continental meaning and most of it is put into the fridge. Forgot to ask how to check-out, so just posted the key through the letterbox and left. I had pre-paid on my credit card, so I wasn't leaving without paying. Nice hotel nice staff, just not what I was expecting or am used to, but would be great place to stay for a break and is not a bad distance to the M3, so is good for business travelers too.

Comfortable rooms
Arrived here to find that the bar and restaurant were closed until the following day. This was a shame and an email explaining this would've been appreciated. On arrival I was given a small complimentary box of chocolates (nice touch) and shown to my room. However the girl doing this left no instruction as to check out procedure/time or what the arrangements would be for breakfast. I had to catch her in the hall later that evening to find out. The wi-fi was poor and there was very limited phone reception let alone reliable 3G service. That said however, the rooms were spotlessly clean with a lovely spongy carpet under foot. Plump feather duvet and pillows and excellent radiator. Nice touch having a mini fridge in the room with complimentary cartons of orange juice. Breakfast (unbeknown to me until I opened the door as I was about to leave) was left outside the door and consisted of 2 pieces of fresh fruit, 1 croissant with a dish of butter, some type of bread, bowl & individual box of cereal as well as a yogurt so was good considering. Milk was left in the mini fridge. I would stay here again.

Disappointed
A nice room and helpful staff couldn't override the disappointment of being told that the kitchens were closed and the nearest restaurant was two miles away and since the kitchen was closed there was a buffet breakfast left in my room for god knows how long. The broadband was hit and miss even though the staff really tried to help, I could tell they were embarrassed with the service but it was out of their hands.

Disappointed. Room was good, sleeping was fine. Disappointed that they had stopped providing food even though it was shown as being provided at the time of booking. Instead of a good English Breakfast which we had bought we were given a very poor 'continental breakfast' in our ro way would we recommend this B&B
