Very happy with our stay and the hotel's attitude. One small criticism, we wish the restaurant would use less salt in the preparation of their dishes.

Unique, tudor building , with beautiful decor. Staff were pleasant and very helpful . Thoughtful gestures, ' welcome note , wishing you a pleasant stay ' Restaurant doesnt open on a monday , but a recommendation was given , which was also excellent..

I knew the White Horse because I used to live in Romsey but never stayed there before. It's been up and down over the years and this is definitely an up time. Very welcoming, very friendly. All clean and well appointed. We asked for a child bed in the room which was ready when we arrived. The mattress was worn and very uncomfortable. Spoke to reception in the morning and it was being changed by the time I got back to the room.

Lovely hotel, great staff, lovely rooms. I was just unlucky that the quilt in my single bed was thinner that the one on my husbands bed so I was cold.

A lovely hotel in the heart of Romsey.. Lots of lovely nooks & crannies to sit & relax with a drink, a book or friends. Cosy bar area. Staff all lovely very cheerful & helpful. The thing that let it down for us was the food. A good menu with such promise but unfortunately not executed very well and the cooked breakfast was also disappointing. We would stay again but eat elsewhere.

It was fabulous to spend the night in such history, I was hoping for ghosts. Lovely staff, perfectly located in Romsey. Very comfortable beds and rooms, great water pressure. Very clean. A real treat

Great hotel
We had a lovely stay, reception were very friendly and welcomjng and offered great assistance getting bags to the room and setting up the cot bed. Restaurant and bar staff were also very welcoming and professional and food and drink were delicious. We will definitely be booking again

FABULOUS! Highly recommended.
We spent 2 nights in the suite which was huge and very comfortable. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was really good, one of the best scallop dishes ever. All the staff were just wonderful, and the hotel is just charming. A great location too. This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at and the prices were very reasonable. I wish there had been a fridge in the suite, plenty of room for one, and the toilet was a bit tricky to flush, but we understand this is a very old building so not perfect plumbing. These are very minor issues, and I would still rate this hotel 10 out of 10. Can't wait to visit again.

Lovely hotel and very pleasant historical building. Room 106 was cosy and lovely bathroom. View from window isn’t beautiful but we didn’t mind. TV wasn’t working properly but we didn’t really want to watch it on this occasion. We chose not to have breakfast but we could really smell it when we had the window open in the morning.

Another great stay at The White Horse! Exceptionally clean, quiet, beautiful bar and lounges. Town is quaint and it has an Abbey and river too! Book the Penthouse if you can!! We got a complimentary late check it was much appreciated THANK YOU!!!

Really great reception from staff on arrival and leaving, really comfortable room which had an addition seat/chair than just bed to sit on. There was also a radio in the room. I requested deacf tea and coffee for the room and that was provided. Nice bathroom. Wifi in room good as well as TV in room.There is no on site parking at this hotel, however the car parks in Romsey do not charge after 4pm until 8am the next day and there are 2 within 5-10 minute walk of hotel.

When checking in Sonia, on reception was very polite, efficient and friendly. The food in the bar was superb, and again the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The room, although “cosy” was clean and comfortable and we had a fab night sleep

Lovely stay in a lovely hotel .
Very lovely room, the staff were very caring and kind ensuring that we had two fans for our room during the heat wave . The breakfast was excellent and location perfect . The carpark was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. A very enjoyable stay and I would recommend this hotel to others .

Generally disappointing,
We were attending a family wedding in a nearby village. Trying to book the restaurant in advance for a meal the night before the wedding was almost impossible. The online booking system is terrible and nobody answers the phone in either hotel or restaurant. Gave up the meal. Communication with staff was not good and the extractor fan was hanging out in one room. Otherwise clean and comfortable, but not really the expected standard. Generally disappointing.

The staff were excellent. Ww were allowed to pre order our evening meal over the phone whilst still driving to the hotel so that we didn't miss the last kitchen order time. The food was excellent as was the service. The room was air conditioned and ore cooled on arrival

Lovely rooms
Lovely little rooms (cosy) in the hotel part- very clean and comfortable. Felt the check in process was very drawn out and patronising to be honest- didn't need to take so long. Food was very good, lovely patio area to sit out on. Parking is actually directly behind the hotel albeit a loop drive to find it- but very helpful.

White Horse Hotel Romsey. Great Stay for us!
We Stayed at the White horse Hotel, for our wedding anniversary for four nights, from August 29th - September 2nd. We didn't get the type of room we wished for, due to not booking early enough. nonetheless, the room we were allocated was really, really nice. Clean, spacious and more than comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy, and the reception staff gave us a quick tour of the hotel, and took us to our room, which was a nice touch. Bar and restaurant staff, and hotel mstaff all round are very nice, friendly and do a great job. Breakfast (vegetarian for us) is excellent, as is the evening dinner. Great choices for veggies.We ate in the restaurant three nights out of four. The food is first class, and reasonably priced! All round this is a great hotel in a nice village within less that 20-30 mins to a number of lovely New Forest walks. We don't normally do reviews but we wanted to do so this time in part to say a big thanks to the hotel for a lovely stay. Frank and Paula Darlington
