Using the hotel carpark was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel itself was quiet and comfortable. We were a little disappointed with our room because there was no view, just a fire escape. Due to the room layout the TV was in such a position that it was not possible to watch it when in bed without getting a creaked neck .

Modern hotel, with great staff. The room layout was not great as you could not walk between the bed and the cupboard with the doors open. The coffee supplied for breakfast was un-drinkable.

I recently stayed at the Winchester Spa Hotel on Tuesday, 9th January, and unfortunately, my experience was far from comfortable. The primary issue was the temperature in my room - it was extremely cold. The absence of curtains and radiators only exacerbated the problem, and a noticeable draft coming through the window made the situation worse. Despite bringing this to the attention of the front-of-house staff, the solution provided – a portable heater – was inadequate. It failed to sufficiently heat the room, forcing me to resort to wearing multiple layers, a hat, and gloves just to keep warm. This significantly detracted from the overall comfort and enjoyment of my stay.

Great hotel
Lovely hotel, rooms ready on arrival slightly earlier than planned. Spa was great, staff friendly and helpful, treatments were very professional. Pool was shut for maintenance which was a shame but we were not charged for parking as a result. Convenient location for a walk into the city centre.

Poor Gym Facilities
This was booked for a spa getaway in between Christmas. They advertised a totally refurbished Spa and Gym. On arrival, we was informed that the pool was closed for scheduled maintenance. If we had know this within the cancellation period, we would have changed our booking to another hotel or date. The gym itself was tiny. One bike and two running machines. Had to wait to use the bike. Someone using the free weights so again had to wait as there is a small limited area in which to use them. Really disappointed with the Spa and gym facilities. We should have been made aware of the pool closure as this was scheduled maintenance and not a failure issue. Feel really let down. I

Great location and perfect for visiting the city. All the staff were exceptionally helpful, kind and friendly. The food was great- lots of choice at breakfast. The heating in our room wasn’t working but once we mentioned this an oil-filled radiator was delivered which sorted out the problem. A big disappointment was that the swimming pool was out of action. We chose this hotel because of this facility so it was unfortunate and frustrating not to be able to swim.

We found the room very dark . Even putting all the lamps on it was not enough light . We had to sit in the lobby to read . The tv was struggling with signal and remote needed new batteries.

This was a lovely hotel, although the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. The in room facilities were very basic for the price of the room. We would stay again based on the location and parking.

Relaxing stay
Lovely hiyel with friendly staff and very clean. Fab room with great shower. The new spa is fab with steam room, sauna, great jacuzzi, pool and cold plunge shower. Again, all clean and tidy. Massages were great. Breakfast was delicious and all fresh. Easy parking onsite (small fee). Only negative is the pillow wasn’t that comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were outstanding and check in was very smooth. The only downside of our stay was the cleanliness of the changing room floor of the spa. Also no spa robes were offered. The room itself was great, clean and decent shower. We would visit again!

Positive on all counts
Good location, not too far from the station and the town centre. We visited for the cathedral and christmas market mainly and found it to be an ok walk with cafes and shops along the way. We took full advantage of the spa on our first day which was really nice and not too busy when we were there. The food in the restaurant and bar was so good we ate there both nights. We also had breakfast on the day of departure, unfortunately there were no vegetarian alternatives to things like sausages and bacon but what we did have was really good quality. The room and bed were really comfortable. I said upon leaving if I'm ever back in winchester I'd happily stay again.

Very nice hotel
Lovely hotel with very charming helpful staff. Perfect location for town. Only downside was the pillows were uncomfortable and quite a few gnats flying around near bar and restaurant. Parking should have been free.

Good, but concentrate on the details
Hotel room was incredibly hot, could do with a new mattress as it was incredibly soft and we kept rolling into the middle. The room fridge didn't work

Lovely stay in Winchester
This was a lovely hotel, all the staff were very friendly & the food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel - the only issue we had was they don’t have steak knives which we found incredible!

A nice hotel in a handy location. We had a suite which was a good size but very dark owing to being in the eaves & only one window. Unfortunately the roller blind didnt work so it meant it was really hard to get natural light in the room. We spoke to the front desk & they were apologetic, offering drinks vouchers as compensation for the inconvenience & offered to send a mainetenance person in the morning. Sadly they never arrived. The place itself is clean & the communal areas are well kept. The breakfast variety was good but there were no hot plates readily available and we had to hunt around for salt & pepper which shouldve been on the table. The cooked breakfast was tasty but lukewarm. Our highlight of the stay was the spa. The staff were lovely & helpful and the spa itself is a really nice space to relax. Overall, not quite a 4 star stay, but with a bit of work, it very well could be.

Really nice hotel. Room was cold at first but warmed up with heater. Clean and modern amenities. Staff very nice and friendly, allowed me to check out a bit later as I also used the spa the morning of the check out. No extra cost. Beautiful spa.

Pleasant stay
Reception area was very cold due to broken front door!!!!!!!! Breakfast is a must 😋 👌 Excellent quality & great value for money. The spa was really good but pool too cold for us. Room was good & heat from the air con had the room warmed up in minutes.
