Stayed here as one of my night stops of the South Down Way Trail. Situated in the lovely little village of East Meon. The staff were very welcoming and and very accommodating. The room was perfectly acceptable for what I needed it for and I was blessed with the bath! Perfect for a soak after a long day of walking. The menu and food were both great and reasonably priced, as was the beer selection. I had to check out before breakfast as I had an early start and they were happy to accommodate with breakfast to take away. Overall a great stay over with a great evening meal

The staff at Ye Olde George were all really friendly, helpful and polite from the moment I arrived till I left. The food in the restaurant was excellent pub food and the Badger ales they had were well kept. The room was spacious, comfortable and pretty quiet. East Meon is a lovely little village with plenty of walking around the area. I enjoyed my stay and extended it by an extra night. I'd return again to explore more of the South Downs.

Booked and paid for b&b, however, only offered complimentary breakfast i.e. burnt croissants. Full English was offered as a alternative for £10. Faulty shower in room.

Myself and my daughter stayed for 1 night as a halfway stop over. Lovely property, staff very pleasant and welcoming. We booked for an evening meal, we found the menu had limited options (smaller plate/bar menu would have been suffice). However, the steak was amazing and was clearly cooked with quality products and from the heart. The village looked stunning on the drive in. Due to the 6pm check in it gave limited time for us to explore.

Walked via the South Downs Way. Wish I'd checked the details to see they don't open until 6pm so we hung out at the other village pub. Worth the wait though as everything was excellent. Lovely staff. Great room. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Really enjoyable.

An accidental discovery.
I wanted to stay in Chichester but had to settle for this place. Excellent! A very old inn (?15th century) in the lovely Hampshire village of East Meon. Saturday night in the pub was welcoming and friendly without being noisy, so falling fast asleep in a room above the bar as no problem at all. Beware the customer's dogs that mug you for cuddles😊The rooms are cosy and clean, the showers aren't the most powerful but perfectly adequate, beds are comfy. Food and beer; the usual high standard that we seem to get in pubs these days. The village makes a pleasant after dinner stroll with some interesting nooks and crannies. Remember that this is a pub that's been here for centuries so has stairs but no lifts to the rooms. As it's set in the South Downs National Park it's got some good places for walks and there's a fair few cyclists around but not hoards of them. I'm inclined to return for a few hikes. Very nice.

Excellent Hotel
Lovely pub hotel to stay. They've got some fantastic beers. The food is excellent. Would recommend.

A good nights sleep in a rural idyll
Very comfortable bed.. nice room.. its a15th century building so no lifts etc and its what you'd expect..its a pub (good ale selection) restaurant fancy food .priced accordingly but very nice..staff friendly and heloful..nice location in very quite rural village.

Beautiful old inn, East Meon
The inn is beautiful, food and ambience is fantastic. Really welcoming hosts who are taking all necessary precautions re Covid. We booked last minute so could only get the twin room which I felt was a bit tired decor-wise but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I could get one of the other rooms

Great place to stay and eat.
Lovely village location. Traditional pub great clean room with comfy bed. The food was amazing. Never normally have breakfast but the evening meal was that good I thought I better try it. It was perfect.

The outside of this property is attractive & it blends in with the surrounding buildings. However our bedroom & en-suite were tired & dark. We complained about the beds as the mattress springs could be felt when we lay down. The only solution they offered was for us to lie on top of the duvet & we were given 2 bed sheets as our cover instead of the duvet. We asked for an alternative room but were told all rooms were taken. We were offered a discount. But as we had paid in advance this did not happen.

A Short Break in East Meon.
A nice short break. This inn is very nicely situated in East Meon. It has great character. Service is very good with an appealing choice of food. Within the room, the shower and its doors were a bit fiddly to control and use.

Perfect for a night away. Fantastic food.
Charming little village perfect for a one-day get away. The restaurant serves one of the best food I've ever eaten, not like pub food, but proper cooked on side tailored dishes. They do all from scratch even the greek yoghurt for breakfast - it was beyond all the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly and were catering for all our needs. Local people were friendly and easy to chat even though we were strangers to them. The only negative was that the rooms were quite pricey for this sort of village and conditions. We paid the top end luxurious bedroom which I don't think was worth the £110 - it was just a big bedroom with no features. We might have as well gone for the cheaper one at the other end of the hotel. The expensive bedroom was next to the staircase just above the bar and the noise was awful; you could hear every conversation going on. Fortunately once 11pm has passed all went silent as everyone left and we could enjoy ourselves till the morning when straight after 6-7am people started walking up and down the stairs waking us up. Be aware of that and go for the cheaper bedroom away from the stairs. It's still one of my favourite spots and worth staying in despite the noise. The food, village views and atmosphere compensates it all. There are also other small charming villages around so as far as you have a car there is plenty to see during your weekend gateaway.

Great location
Great place to be - very rural in a lovely town. The pub is busy with locals and food and atmosphere are very nice. Interior decor a bit dated, and in summer windows had to be propped open with books and had to bring my own fan to keep comfortable. Staff are very welcoming and this is a great base for seeing the South Downs. A world away from London!

Walking the South Downs Way.
Part of walking South Downs Way. In a nice little English hamlet. Very friendly owner/manager. Only negative thing was timing of breakfast. Was supposed to start from 7:30 and I came down to breakfast at that time to find I couldn't get in to the breakfast room. The waitress only arrived in her car after that. Everything else was great including the room which was very spacious and comfortable.

Great quiet location
Room clean and cozy and a great location for peace and quiet even though air conditioning /extraction fan out the back was a little noisy. Food was amazing. And staff very helpful and friendly.

Inn in a pretty village
A friendly, homely atmosphere in an ancient inn full of character . Friendly helpful staff and excellent food with the facilities you would expect in an olde inn. Just be aware that you cannot gain access on arrival before 6pm as the inn is closed between 3 and 6pm. You are then given a key to let yourselves in.

Exceptional Inn in a little village in the heart of Hampshire. Room was cozy. Bed very comfortable. The food is amazing. Haute cuisine without an excessive price. Staff were incredibly accommodating. Wish I could've stayed longer!
