Alpine Lodge has real friendly hosts. The proximity of the pools is fantastic. The motel is old, but well maintained. Providing towels for the pool was a really nice surprise and much appreciated. We loved our stay and look forward to coming back.

It was too hot. No air conditioner. Couldn't leave the door open all night to let air in and the bathroom window opened up too far to leave open. Terrible night.

A very comfortable stay in Hanmer Springs. Clean, comfortable and quiet, and very reasonably priced. Very central, and close to everything. Will stay here again, and highly recommend to others.

Good position but interior shabby and needs paint. Patches on walls need work. No microwave and outlook limited to car park. Nowhere undercover for bike storage.

Good morning Celia, Thank you for your input. Our budget studio rooms all have microwaves in them, so a bit confused by your statement. We could have provided you with a tarpaulin for your bikes if you wanted it, just had to ask. we are working on updating the paint colours in all our rooms over the coming year.Kind Regards

The operators knowingly gave us the room 21 which had shower problems and the toilet was stinking ,service was poor upon checkin . Not worth the money i will not recommend to any one to make reservation as heating facilities is pre hestoric carpets in the rooms are stinking

Your booking was made through a third party being - "Expedia" - you were adamant it was booked under your name only- which was incorrect, and caused a delay in the check in. Comfortable beds, super close to town and hot pools. Well laid out room. Nice to have a table our party of 4 could sit around. The outside landscaping requires some TLC. The concrete was broken and uneven at the entrance way to the room but this was pointed out to us by staff on arrival. Overall good value for money.

Friendly Staff. Shower was powerful. Room was very run down. Tv didn't work properly, microwave didn't work properly. Heated towel rail was held together with cable tie. So much condensation the windows were dripping with water. Overall pretty run down!

We had a family room, I slept in one of the single beds and it was super comfy!! The heater in the bathroom didn’t work but I mentioned it to the staff on checkout, who were grateful for me letting them know, and they said they would fix it. Good value for a family room.

We were suprised to find that dishes had to be washed in bathroom sink or put outside only to be replaced between 11-1 next day. Otherwise the facility was spotless very handy to hot pools and we were even supplied with towels for use at the pool, a real bonus.

You can hear next door.
Owners and staff were friendly enough. Good central location. The only issues I would say are that the walls between each unit are paper thin and you can hear next door quite abit. Ok if you're a heavy sleeper but you can hear people snoring and going to the toilet..... Not ideal really. Other than that it was clean and warm.

Nice but Dated
Good motel in Hanmer Springs. Stayed in a King Suite w Balcony. Room was clean but very dated … think pink bathroom fixtures and bedding that’s a bit old school. Perfectly comfortable and very nice owners, just quite outdated in terms of fixtures and fittings. Room had basic appliances which was nice … kettle, toaster, cooker (didn’t try it), and fridge. It had a spa bathtub which was out of service waiting for parts (but to be fair the room was not advertised as even having a spa bath so no complaints), and a nice balcony with a view of the mountains in the background, and the main road through town. If I returned to Hanmer I’d probably look for more updated accommodations but if my options were limited I’d stay here again.
