I couldn’t have wished for anything better! A spontaneous stay while I attended a course at the Curwen Print Study Centre near by (which is also excellent). The room was large yet super cosy, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Lots of soft cushions, blankets and fluffy rugs. Everything was clean and tidy, and warm which was very much appreciated. The pub was so welcoming - staff and punters! And the food was home cooked, plentiful and very tasty. Definitely recommend the food 😀

Very happy
We really enjoyed our stay at the White Horse. The staff were so helpful and the full English breakfast kept us going all day! I loved our room with the french windows opening on to a little lawn.

Enjoyable stay
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and in a nice location close enough to town but not actually IN town. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was really good. The only downside was the shower which was very weak.

Booked in to have Sunday lunch and to stay the night. Lunch was fine, but went out in the afternoon and came back at 21.20 expecting to have a couple of drinks only to find the bar closed. Tried to book breakfast for Monday morning and was told that they do not do breakfast on Mondays, despite the fact that the sign in the car park clearly says Bed and Breakfast and it was also stated as being available on Hotels.com website. Room was adequate. Bottled water provided but no drinking glasses. Tea and coffee with cups but no saucers

This is a lovely small very old pub with separate adjacent accommodation. We had a 1st floor room which was a good size, with a standard size double bed, beautiful views over fields of wheat. We had a lovely meal in the pub and the staff were very helpful and friendly, there is a large beer garden and separate small restaurant. It’s in open countryside so not close to other facilities however we were looking for somewhere quiet so this suited us perfectly, a bonus is that the checkout time is 11am, so no need to get up early. Tea/coffee provided, plus shampoo & hair dryer.

Friendly staff
Staff very helpful polite and flexible. Room was comfortable but a little tired and several cobwebs. Nice little garden but would benefit from some attention. Having said this would stay again as lovely location, views and friendly staff.

Lovely property in a beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff. Grwat room , clean and well equipped, comfy bed and great shower. Only down side was it was very hot and as we were on the ground floor right by the gatden we didn't feel safe keaving leaving windows open and on the friday night despite the sign saying it was open till 11 they shut the pub at 10.30 , there were a few of us staying arriving back then hoping for a night cap in the cool gardens but were disappointed

Lovely quiet stay in the country
Lovely quiet location, very little traffic and easy parking. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. I stayed for 2 weeks and I would recommend this place to any traveller of business person.

When I arrived at the hotel I was informed the restaurant was closed due to COVID-19. I appreciate this is an issue at the moment but I did not receive any notifications explaining this. The hotel said they did but I’ve checked emails and the Hotels.com app and I couldn’t find anything. In the morning there was no one around to hand the key in and no availability of breakfast. Room itself was fine but lighting was a bit dim and gloomy

Would have been useful to know that the pub was closed on Mondays, but owners very helpful in suggesting somewhere to eat.overall very enjoyable stay.

I was very pleased with the accommodation, very well presented, and the lovely small private garden was beautiful to sit in on a morning having a cup of tea. The only slight problem was the shower pressure was very low, but still did the job.

Cozy pub with easy access to local shops
We stayed at this out of the way pub due to meeting friends locally for easy getaway from it all and were pleased with the overall experience. Free parking, lovely dinner, great breakfast, cozy pub and large comfortable room with great views.

A beautiful, well run country inn and rapidly becoming a favourite. Nice traditional menu and a great breakfast. I'll certainly visit again.
