On checking in, we advised the manage that we had received a phone call which required us to cancel our next two nights and return to Ashburton. He advised that there would be no refund bec ause we booked through expedia.
We actually booked through Whotif, as you know. I asked him if we had booked directly with the motel would the same policy apply. He said no, they would have given a refund. As a result we changed our plans and stayed for the three nights. We had booked a standard studio.There was only a small TV in the lounge and only one lounge chair to sit in as most of the room was taken up by two single beds. There was a second larger TV in the bedroom, which meant that if a couple wanted to watch TV you had to sit on the bed to do so. To do that causes very bad posture and anyone with a back problem would find it painful. The toilet roll holder was in the wrong place, situated on the back wall behind the toilet and very difficult to reach without getting off the toilet. A short adult or child would find it very difficult and annoying. And lastly the quality of the toilet paper used was appalling. Although we booked a room without a spa bath, there was one in the bathroom but it didn't work?? They are charging premium for sub-standard rooms. Will not go back or recommend.
