Hi Dilmus - so sorry you chose to give my hotel a poor rating based the Bourbon Street Grille's business hours...it is a totally separate business with no affiliation with the Hall House Hotel - it just seems unfair that you would post a negative review without knowing for sure which business you are criticizing...as far as the heating in your room being inadequate - there are 4 different heat sources in that room - it sounds like you may not have been using them correctly. I wish you would have mentioned it to me or called me for assistance as you did earlier that day when you had trouble with the check in procedures.

Hi David - thanks for your comments - sorry you had difficulty with the mattress - you're right - trying to match people's preferences with regard to mattress and pillow firmness is a hotelier's nightmare - again i'm sorry you found ours to be uncomfortable...you mention that you never saw anyone associated with the hotel and i guess you mentioned that as a negative - we are on site all day and within a text or phone call 24/7 - you may not have recognized us but we were there and are very responsive - of course you have to contact us - I hope you didn't need anything and just decided not to reach out to us because you didn't see us...again thanks for staying with us and we do appreciate your feedback.

Hi Adam - thanks so much for staying with us and we appreciate your feedback. We do share a building with a restaurant and an art gallery - three separate businesses with different ownership but we all try and be good neighbors to each other. i apologize for the noise you dealt with from the restaurant and I will bring it to their attention - they do try to be aware of the hotel guests but over time employees can forget and new ones come on board that simply aren't aware...I apologize and thanks again for your comments.

Hi Evelyn - as I mentioned to you in your private message to me earlier I'm sorry for the problem. We are in a historic building in the south from the late 1880's that we share with a restaurant - we have regular pest control provided by a local very reputable company with a great reputation but occasionally an insect will surface - especially shortly after the property is serviced. Again I apologize and our inspection record with the health department is superb for the 16 years we have been in business.

Hi Tyra - I'm sorry that you felt our room photos were deceiving - the furniture and decor in the room has been unchanged since the photos were taken - the only thing I can imagine that was different was the comforter on the bed (which of course is changed daily). I'm sorry about the parking difficulties but no private parking is available close by and you chose to come at Christmas time which is the busiest time of the year - parking is on a first come first served basis in Dahlonega - we always try to help with luggage when we can. As far as pricing is concerned it could certainly be the case that you didn't want to pay our rates but I can assure you we keep a close eye on the market - our prices are quite competitive as is evidenced by our occupancy levels - thanks so much for your feedback and I'm sorry you had less than a perfect stay.

Hi Patricia - sorry you felt we did a poor job - our website clearly mentions the location of each room since we don't have an elevator and we want to give our guests as much information as possible - so I guess I'm not sure how you were confused about which floor you were on...we do have sign restrictions in our town and i do remember assisting you and your husband when you called me for help - that's another reason why we include a map of the square showing our location on our website. I'm sorry you found the bed uncomfortable - matching peoples' preferences for mattress and pillow firmness is frustrating for hotel owners - everyone is different. The stairs leading to the bathroom were a necessary result of the historic building originally having been built without plumbing in 1881 - the floor had to be raised to allow the water to drain. I'm sorry for the lengthy reply and I appreciate your feedback but I did want you to know that we work very hard so our guests can have a clean comfortable and enjoyable experience - thanks again for staying with us!

Hi Jane - thanks so much for the bubble bath suggestion - the room previously had a jetted tub (which can't take any oils, soaps, etc.) so when we converted to a soaker tub I guess we just didn't think of it...glad to hear you felt the room was clean and in working order etc. A building of that age requires a huge amount of constant maintenance - we must have missed the window slipping but we will take care of it. Sorry to hear you feel you were overcharged. We are careful to monitor our market and based on our occupancy levels and large number of return guests etc., I feel we are very competitive and our prices are not out of line.
