A basic review for a basic hotel. Using the booking site we have used for years, the prices were actually really high ($60 AU) for what we experienced.
Hard bed (standard), nice pillows (awesome!), good sheets and okay towels, basic toiletries, some cockies in the bathroom and drain smells at night...(which isn't unusual). A shower with great water pressure but no screen, so prepare for toilet and sink and whatever is on the floor to have a good shower too ;)
But, the worst was really bad, warm, stuffy air con, only made okay by the ceiling fan, seriously.
We booked the 'triple' room as a couple, just because we like to have a balcony to check out the world going by. On arriving knackered after coming from Nha Trang, we were taken to what we later worked out was the only 'triple' room in the hotel actually without a balcony (Room 701).
We quickly asked why there wasn't one and were equally quickly taken to a room with said balcony...
The wifi was very good, the tv channels were fine, and there are plenty of food/drink options around. The Pham Ngu Lao area is always amazing for people watching, as it is for touts, over-priced drinks and hard working vendors.
