What a gem this place was! We stayed in a chalet cabin but they also cater to caravans/campers. You’re on the beach in an instant via a quick pathway, and there are alpacas and goats on the property if you need an animal fix. But the best part for me was being directly across the street from a glow worm dell. Once it’s dark, take a short walk and you’ll be surrounded by teeny tiny twinkling lights that look like the universe laid out before you. It’s magical! Service was excellent, cabin was pristine; everything we needed for an overnight. Hokitika is just down the road with shops, restaurants etc. Could not recommend this place higher!

The chalet we stayed in was very large an comfortable, with a shared patio just steps from the beach. Unfortunately the weather was not great while we were there, but our time was very relaxing nonetheless. Our only complaint was the spotty WiFi.

Das Appartement ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, Küchenzeile und Bad benötigen dringend eine Renovierung. Aussengrill nicht benutzbar, völlig verdreckt. Bequeme Betten. Für den Preis hatten wir bis jetzt in Neuseeland deutlich bessere Unterkünfte.

Fantastic location to walk to beach and glow worms. Love that the property accommodates dogs! Amazing camp ground. Beach front chalet; excellent bed and room was absolutely fine for one night stay.

We loved our stay - we stayed one night in the king beachfront room. They join onto a room next to them and share a balcony. Very clean. Although it didnt matter to us, one thing I noted was that the wifi single didnt extend to our room.

The heating system is a bit uneven, space heaters mostly. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. It worked out really well for our family. Enjoyed our stay.

Lovely location overlooking the beach. I wish we could have stayed longer! The cottage had a nice layout, and was well stocked, There were a few maintenance issues that need to be tended to ( poor window seals, broken latches, etc)

The location is amazing - our cottage was right by the beach. I would have scored this a lot higher but the properties are nice and clean but a little tired.

Gorgeous view of the Tasman Sea shore. Staff concerned that we had what we needed. Chalet was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Slept to the sound of the surf.

Young gentleman at reception was fabulous! He gave us lots of tips on the area and where to eat. Room was fairly basic and had a beach smell about it. The bed was comfortable.

Lovely receptionist/owner, very welcoming and helpful. This place was well-reviewed and I felt confident booking. Ben the other owner was very helpful when asked to come and mske the TV work.

Too little too late
The couple who run the place are friendly , efficient and courteous. The beef is the size of the room and lack of amenities. There was no way to cook. The tv depended on three remotes + wouldn't work without switching plugs and leaving a host device on 24/7. You couldnt get to wardrobe without climbing over a sofa. The wifi didnt work. It dropped off completely & registerd just 1.3mbs download on a speed test. Impossible for working people. The management had a bigger room at same price and literally told us they dont use this room #23/24 for anything but overnight stays. We were there for 3 lingering nights. There are much more workable rooms available on this site. Unfortunately we didn’t book one of them.

This accommodation is 20 minutes by walk away from city center. There is no eatery in the premises and its surroundings. The beach is so so. The room is quite packed. Wifi connection is unstable. Cleanliness and staff friendliness are good. This place (this accommodation and even Hokitika) is not recommended for those without car or bike as Hokitika has no public bus and Uber service

Very comfy beds, spacious cabin with everything supplied. Very nice site with easy direct access to beach. Lovely to have glow worms just across road. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I would stay here again
We really enjoyed this place. Stayed in a beachfront chalet which was cute and cosy. Metres from the beach so the sounds of the waves lulled you to a peaceful sleep. The mini farm with alpacas, chickens, and a goat was a pleasant surprise. And best of all it is literally just across the road from the glow worm dell. Staff was friendly and gave us a top tip on where to go for a top-notch cheap dinner (Town Chip).
