Unfortunately, the people that take your money is right on your charge card statement and it was Hotels.com NOT Catherine Powell! You chose to book with Hotels.com and they take 100% of your monies IMMEDIATELY and ALL correspondence goes through Hotels.com. Our business does NOT get paid until AFTER you stay; therefore, we receive NO MONIES! We contacted you month (June 16th) BEFORE your Arrival Date to let you know we did NOT have a room for you, so you could make other arrangements 4 weeks out, so you would not have had to stay in Geneva! Many times when we have contacted guests that we can not accommodate them; they show up anyway! I guess they think “magically” we will build a room upon their arrival… We can not make decisions for our Guests on how they chose to make their reservations; nor where they chose to stay! You chose to use a “third party” to make your reservation instead booking Directly with the property. They have your charge card and monies- NOT us! Also, I said, “even if they gave me monies, it would NOT be full amount”; as they they take out their commissions! Sorry you thought our correspondence to you was an “advertisement” on Hotels.com extranet site they tell us to correspond with you.

We totally agree, Sam, and we love our coffee, too.! Before the COVID-19, we had a Coffee Bar our Guests could help themselves to 24/7,along with a refrigerator to keep their beverages and snacks cold, also, stocked with bottled water and ice 24/7; however this ALL changed IMMEDIATELY with the VIRUS! The NYS Health Department did not want to take a chance on cross contamination. There's nothing better than sitting at the table conversing with other Guests in the morning at the B&B over Breakfast, enjoying something homemade and talking with the hostess; however, we thought our Guests would be more comfortable under our current conditions with fresh Bakery purchased products than our homemade kitchen items under the current circumstances. Again we are trying to adhere to the strict State mandated hygiene Laws and do what the majority of accommodations are doing for sanitary reasons which is "Brown Bag" Breakfasts at the moment which none of us are happy about, just like the masks. Please come back when we can serve you a hearty breakfast without masks. I hope you liked the sunny orange from Florida! Have a Peaceful & Healthy Summer
