No WiFi....
Nice and beautiful hotel but no WiFi connection inside the room. They are willing to change me into another room but that room is smaller and the WiFi is not in a good connection too.

Staff was friendly and helped us arrange tuktuk. The room was clean and spacious but the aircon was very noisy on the first night, needs maintenance

Lovely colonial property in the middle of the Fort, Art Deco theme is continued throughout. Didn’t eat there as breakfast seemed very expensive; there is a huge variety of eateries nearby, from trendy cafes to high class dining, to small local shops. Suite was comfy, although the bathroom separated bedroom from living area, so it wasn’t one large space. Didn’t use living area. No dark curtains over nets so light let in in morning.

Huge heritage, colonial style room. Good location, walkable around the fort. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely will recommend!

This is a really beautiful Art Deco Hotel which was faultless in its presentation. Our room and bathroom were huge, clean and beautifully decorated. The swimming pool is also lovely. The staff were wonderful - always friendly and helpful. We have stayed in many hotels on our travels over the last four months and this was the first to surpass our expectations in practically every way. One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in - highly recommended.

Great location right in the middle of the fort nice rooms, nice hot showers - enjoyed the pool - staff were very helpful even had umbrellas for us to use.

The manager is a disgrace, with no understanding of hospitality. Shouted agressively at me and our driver after not agreeing to pay for my driver's accomodation despite emailing us to say they would beforehand. Ruined our 1st night in Sri Lanka in what would otherwise have been a nice hotel.

Great stay in Galle Fort
This is the second time we stayed at Deco on 44. It is a lovely hotel in the center of Galle Fort. The rooms are large and either face the pool or have an attached large balcony. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is good!

Great hotel right in the middle of Fort Galle, funky architecture, excellent breakfast. Pool was nice for those hot afternoons. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.

Great one night stay
Great one night stay in Galle Fort. Junior suite room very spacious and comfortable. Great little pool to allow you to cool down at the end of the day . Great breakfast and the staff even made a juice from the wood apples we bought locally. Lovely Deco hotel ideally located for wandering around the fort area, restaurants shops, museums, etc.

Sehr schoene alte stadtvilla in perfekter lage. Wir sind ins deco on 44 wegen des pools der lage und des charmes gegangen. Pool war super zur abkuehlung zwischendurch. Lage ist einfach perfekt um galle fort zu entdecken. Restaurants gibt es unzaehlige in der umgebung. Der flair des hotels ist wirklich sehr schoen und klassisch. Personal super nett und professionell. Fruehstueck war sehr. Lecker. Sri lanka option waehlen! Der preis ist der lage geschuldet. Ich wuerde eher 3 als 4 sterne geben aber die echten 4 sterne Nachbarn kosten auch mehr

Good for a night or two
Good location in Galle. Hotel has nice breakfast. Rooms are ok, very basic but clean. Power turns on and off quite a bit.

Good value stylish hotel in the centre of Galle
This is a fabulous small hotel in the middle of Galle Fort in an art-deco stytle building. The rooms are comfortable and well-kept and the wifi is useable. The beds are very confortable and there is good water pressure in the shower. There are DVD players in all rooms, and there is a library of around 200 DVDs, including lots that you might actually want to watch! Breakfast is very good, and the all-day restaurant menu has lots of choice. The only slight negative is the tinny musac that seems to be played in the restaurant area most of the day, but happily its not audible anywhere else.

It is beautiful from the outside. Room’s a bit bleak, pool could have been cleaner. Great service the first day, nonexistent the second day. Also why can’t we have a real bathroom door? Perfect location though.

Nice hotel in the old fort town
A pleasant stay for a few nights in this lovely city. Very comfortable beds, fresh linen and towels daily with the option of further clean towels late afternoon. The rooms were clean enough although I don’t think our floor was ‘wet’ mopp d during our stay. Breakfast was ok and we were very grateful for a very late breakfast on our first morning due to a late arrival the night before. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The pool, whilst in a confined space in the middle of the hotel next to the kitchen was lovely to cool off and chill out after a day of sightseeing.

A romantic big house. Small and beautiful.
Located in the center of the Fort and walking distance to all viewpoints we visited. This boutique hotel was converted from a big house, getting us a glance of the history of the city. Our room (it's called Sun) is large, with a lovely balcony, big windows and enough sunshine. And I also like the golden wall in our room, it feels like staying in the history. Our friends stayed in room Moon and it was a nice room too. Rooms are in better conditions than many larger/famous/modern hotels in Sri Lanka.

Perfect place to stay in Galle
The hotel is situated on the main tourist junction in lighthouse street just off pedlar street. It has a small garden where you can have your meals in the open. The great thing is that you can talk to the chef personally to customise your dishes. They also have a swimming pool which is perfect for unwinding after a walk in the hot Galle fort

Established hotel in Galle
Good hotel in Galle. On tour of Sri Lanka you should book at least one or two nights in Galle Fort itself. For the city visit not the hotels outside. At 0715 enjoy kids going to school and 1400 back home. A parade you cannot miss with the historic town as the decor. Seemed to us that other hotels in Fort are equally nice. Walking around we saw some newer stylish lodges too. Staff is pleasant and professional. The driver is outstanding. Book him for transfers.

A lovely Art Deco property with spacious rooms, excellent location and good service . A highlight of our time traveling in Sri Lanka. Staff were very attentive and it was a very comfortable stay .?

Very Comfortable stay in the Heritage town
It is an old dutch house presently owned by a rich jeweler. They have 7-rooms in a 2 story building with a small pool. Bathroom is spacious but TV channels need to enhance with international choice. Hotel also needs to have a female staff in their one room spa.

Great Location
Overall the room was spacious and comfortable, and service was very good. The Sri Lankan breakfast is excellent. A few minor negative things to note. The shower screen could be 30-50 cms longer to avoid flooding the bathroom when having a shower. The room door was glazed (including a glazed panel above door) which let light in at night when trying to sleep. We also had a few problems with the cable TV, both technical issues and unavailability of some channels, as we wanted to watch some of the Olympic events and the test cricket.

We loved the Deco on 44! Great boutique hotel with wonderful service, right in the heart of the fort area. The breakfast was outstanding! Highly recommended.

Nice enough but not for us
Though the hotel was very nice (though somewhat overpriced) we felt the service was too much. There was always someone trying to do everything for you and it got a bit oppressive.
