When I arrived the room smelled like fish. I requested a new room. I was told “well we’re by the ocean.” The ocean didn’t smell as fishy as the room. I did like that it was within walking distance to restaurants and close to the cruise port. I won’t stay here again. I only stayed because my usual hotel wasn’t available.

the hotel was closed for renovation and Hotels.com never contacted me to verify a change of Hotels I found out it was closed the day before my trip and didn't know if I actually had a room reserved and confirmed and was treated as a walk in guest at the hotel that my reservation was transferred to

The 666 of pier 66! The good n bad
It’s being torn down so doesn’t much matter!, did have room keys malfunction, n not work 3TIMES!!! Took 20 plus minutes for security, only to tell us we need to Walk a county mile to front desk n get new keys , 3TIMES!, once after parties 1:30 at nite!!!! Also I had to open patio door wall, to hard n heavy for my wife!, no microwave n small frig. We were there for 4 nites!, also tho I was a vender, n got a discount, guest paid $30 a nite to Park n leave car!!!, staff was great n helpful very friendly, front desk manager not so much ( upon check in) second time I stayed , great grounds n pool, to bad it’ll all be history except tower, we were given free breakfast n drink coupons for the lock situation

Impending renovation
Our overall stay was enjoyable. Unfortunately the property is closing for renovation. The pool maintenance was poor as it seemed they did not run the filters or do any cleaning of the waterline and it was dirty, slimey and sticky. The pool snack area early in the morning did not always have sufficient on hand cash and forced patrons to either charge to the room or return with a credit card. We have stayed there the previous year 2018 and it was much better I assumed the upcoming closing caused cost saving cuts in upkeep. Employees had a low level of morale and we’re scrambling to find future employment. However, they did say the management was providing job fairs but only a few had promising opportunities.

So sad that their going to be closed for a while me an my husband love it here started a tradition to come back on special occasions and it’s always relaxing every single time With and without kids we look forward to the new n improved pier 66 hope it doesn’t change too much, fun affordable very beautiful scenery.

I liked the location. It was near all the hot spots in Ft. Lauderdale. I did not like that the bar/lounge area closed so early. Also the bus shuttle or trolley should be available at least until 10 PM.

My boyfriend and I had a really great time at the Pier Sixty Six. We had a room right by the pool and it was so comfortable. The room was very clean and seeing the jacuzzi through the window every morning was great. Pelican’s landing had great food and the bartender in the lobby was really friendly (also made amazing margaritas!) Overall a good experience. My one complaint is the overpriced parking. We originally thought it would be $30 total, but it ended up being $30 per day and we had two cars, so it was more expensive than necessary in my opinion. We loved everything else though.

I love the fact that I was able to walk onto the Marina and I had amazing views from my balcony. I thought that there were some issues that needed to get fixed before I was given the room, such as the air conditioning. Apparently, the property managers knew of the issue and they still had me and my boyfriend stay at the specific room.

Pier 66 experience May 2019
The room was but I would expect for the Aged and I understand that they are tearing it down so not much effort was given to minor repairs that would have made a much better impression. I am a Floridian so I don't wear shoes when I walk around inside and my feet were black within minutes. Room service did a sparse job of paying attention to detail coffee maker was full from last guest, Supply with not replenished during servicing and I had to call down to get some more tea as I was completely out. I did not take pictures nor was I going to take time to do a review because I felt that it would not help the manager to improve. I'm sure that they are getting the most money that can before the remodel is very few changes. Quite surprised that parking was 30 bucks per day. The price is on the room service menu versus the tab I got was double. I am in the service industry myself I lost times will pass on my experience I did not want to get bogged down in the negatives of my experience. It is still a beautiful area and I chose to focus on that beauty. Fort Lauderdale was my birthplace many years ago and I have a lot of experience with Pier 66. This fell so short of the mark that I was expecting. I would imagine that once the remodel is done I would not even be able to afford one night so I am grateful that I got to experience a place had a lot to do with my history
