Giuest did book for breakfast but didn't come through for it (despite what he says breakfast was available in the dining room from7am to 9am). I therefore refunded the breakfast component of as a goodwill gesture. Guests booked for 3 nights but left after 2 nights. Didn't inform us they did not require 3rd night until the afternoon of the 3rd day. Terms and conditions state that alterations to booking AFTER arrival are charged. Got rather nasty because I said that, they didn't inform us, the housekeeper, hotels.com that they did not require room for 3rd night until 12:45pm on 3rd day (by which time it was too late for us to find another booking) and that therefore they would have to pay for 3rd night. Clearly they finished the job earlier than expected, left, and decided to chance their arm to get refund for 3rd night and when I said sorry, no....they came out with all sort of complaints, no breakfast (untue), nobody available to talk to (untrue), unable to contact us (untrue). Ask yourself, how would we survive in business if we were not able to be contacted, charged for breakfast and didn't supply it, did not have anyone at the property over a 3 day period (the property is in fact a family home that we stay in) Incidentally, guest admits that he was given entry arrangement (by text) Because of Covid we are adopting a minimum contact policy but he was given a mobile phone number and asked to contact me by text or phone on the same number......got nothing until 3pm on 3rd day. And of course the threat that if we didn't refund the money he would leave a bad review (known in the trade as a "Review Terrorist' ) I will leave it up to reasonably minded people to decide which version of events is more likely....how we would have survived as a B&B for 24 years (with an average review score of 94%) if his version of events were even half true
