Thank you for the nice review. We will work on your suggestions on how to improve the decor but in the meantime appreciate your "clean, charming and comfortable" description. Just to make matters clear to others, our tent offer to your son while a bit unorthodox was proffered as he was just coming off a long wilderness trip in Wyoming and we sensed that he was not quite ready to shake off the wilderness quite yet. He slept outside in one of the hammocks! and I envied him.

Thank you for the review. We are a small country Inn. It seems that we were not ideal for your needs. As you know, the hotels in Burlington are completely booked on move-in weekend, prices raised, and you must book early. We frequently host UVM parents and are indeed 17 miles from the UVM campus. That fact, photos and amenities are all clearly posted at our website. Our Family Room can accommodate 2 adults & 3 kids and is favorably priced compared to Burl. hotel prices, esp. that same weekend. We provide a friendly, clean, home away from home in one of the prettiest places in New England. The Family Room has a King bed (not a Queen), twin, and fold-down couch, full kitchen, all private, WIFI, 2 TVs and includes a full breakfast. We are not a modern, new hotel but rather an eclectic family run inn built around an old one room school house. As far as the decor goes, well, decor is a matter of taste. Thank you for your feedback! We apologize if the grounds were not up to par- We filled in our pool in early June, and promptly experienced the wettest June on record in the state of Vermont. Consequently, the courtyard area was muddy and uneven for a time. The cleanliness of our guest rooms is paramount. Our standards are extremely high. Every surface is cleaned, dusted, vacuumed, etc. We use fresh, bright white towels and high quality linens. Again, our sincerest apologies if you felt this was not the case when you were here. Our guests consistently comment that breakfast was one of the highlights of their experience- A good time where they meet and converse with other guests and the innkeepers. We regret that you found it "strange and uncomfortable". We make it clear on our website that we are not a cookie-cutter hotel; we are a somewhat quirky, family run inn. In our own experience travelling worldwide, we are among the many who appreciate small, local operations where one can engage with the proprietors and get the inside scoop. Again, thank you for your comments. They always help us improve. We hope that you will visit us again someday and give us another try.

Wow. We blush. I grew up at a time when a bed and breakfast might literally mean sharing a farmer's table. One expected a little quirkiness, but real memories.
