Good location but old
It was nice to experience how people used to live in the old days. But without an elevator, it was difficult to carry my luggage up my room. The toilet and shower booth (including a bath tub) were separately located and shared with a different guest. The air conditioner was good but too loud. I had to turn it off at night. The floor was squeaky and could hear my neighbor visit the toilet. Breakfast was nice though. The place was close to the circular quay and the rocks market but hard to find the way back to the hotel. I would have liked the hotel more if I had a small luggage with me!

건물이 좀 낡긴 했지만 깔끔하게 관리되고 있고, 주인 부부가 굉장히 친절하심. 아침식사가 제공되는데 맛있었음. 단점이라면 씻을때 온수를 적당히 틀면 시끄러운 소리가 나는데, 건물이 낡아서 그런것 같음. 하버브릿지 바로 앞에 있어서 록스 부근 구경할때 아주 편리함.

사람들은 무척 친절합니다. 오래된 목조 건물 가정집의 아늑한 분위기 입니다. 다만 이때문에 객실과 화장실이 분리돼있거나 손잡이 등이 노후된 것, 방음이 잘 되지 않는 것과 같은 시설 상의 불편함은 조금 감수하셔야합니다.

최악의 호텔
차량 접근이 어려운 곳에 호텔이 있으며, 언덕에 있는 호텔이라 짐을 가지고 가기 불편함. 오래된 집을 개조하여 만든 호텔로 오래된 집의 느낌은 좋았으나, 화장실이 공용이라 불편함. 객실은 좁고, 에어컨이 없어서 냉풍기를 사용하였으며, 엄청 시끄러웠음. 특히 방안에 모기가 있어서 자다가 몇차례 일어남. 절대 추천하지 않은 호텔임

Dear Guest Thanks for your review. We are a 110 year old historic Bed and Breakfast, not a hotel. Yes there are a few stairs in the area but this is out of our control and the pictures on the internet detail this thoroughly. LOUSY FACILLITY, Basically NO EMERGENCY CONTACT
This is an antique hotel, so there's NO LIFE. Shower room and Loo are also shared with rooms on the same floor. Door lock is old-fashioned, so sometimes if you push it a little harder, you may end up locking the door with your keys inside. The biggest problem is that after office hour(i guess after 5-6PM or so ), no one there to ask for help. I made a phone call to "EMERGENCY CONTACT" numbers in SIGN says "contact for emergency,in non-office hour", but it was a number for office inside the building. and basically THERE IS NO ONE in that room. Of course, there was no second contact. In the early morning, I went out from my room for shower,and Like I said a stupid door locked by itself. So I could do nothing but waiting several hours, for ANYONE with spare key to OPEN it. I wasn't a pleasant experiene.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience. We do have private bathroom rooms however the room which you booked was a standard budget room and is reflected in the cost. The establishment is called a Bed and Breakfast, not a hotel. We do understand this may not directly translate to some cultures. Booked this because it was included breakfast and got noticed first when We got there that they cancelled that. No one was there during the days so We could not talk about checking out early. Did not even get any compensation for No breakfast, which is WHY You book a B&B..... got very disapointed, Wi-Fi did not work in the room.

HI Nona Not sure if you noticed but we are in the middle of a pandemic. Hence, due to the LAW and government regulations of social distancing we are required not to serve the complimentary breakfast for yours and ours safety. The breakfast is complimentary so not sure why we would refund you for something we pay for. We see you paid well under $80 per night so not sure how much we could have refunded you. Our business is responsible and we refuse to put anyone at risk regardless of the rating we receive for suspending the breakfast. We face fines of $5000 if we were to continue. Have a safe trip back to your country.

Private bath down the public hall.
Paid double rate for private bath and the room we got. Upon checking in, we found out that our private bath was down the public hall--had to dress to leave our room to get to the "private" bath. Also had problem with the rate we paid which was almost double what was being paid for rooms on the second floor with private baths. We were on the third floor (no elevator) with our "remote" private bath.

Dear John Thanks for the review albeit totally misleading and inaccurate. We only have 2 floors and at various times along the booking process we let guests know we only have stairs as it's a b&b NOT a HOTEL. We weren't aware of your aversion to walking. Secondly, the lower level has a shared bathroom, not private as you inaccurately mentioned. Thirdly, the rate is nowhere near double and your rate was booked on a 3rd party channel not with us. Quite disappointing when we need to constantly need to reply to guests who come along complaining of no elevator when it's it a 2 floor b and b. Guests need to read all our communications bro avoid disappointment. But despite the above errors we are happy your chose to stay with us. All the very best The SHBB team

The property is very well positioned for accessing by foot Circular Quay, many coffee shops and galleries etc. in The Rocks area and the Harbour Bridge. Unfortunately my shared bathroom and toilet were a floor above my bedroom which made it very awkward to access, via a narrow set of stairs, during the night and this was not mentioned in the description of the room I chose. You could also hear other guests moving around downstairs and in the room above and if they had been the very noisy type, it would have been a problem. The property feels like it is in need of some TLC.

Like how close it was to walk about the Harbor. Breakfast was nice with a nice court yard. There was not a view of the Harbor just a tiny peak between buildings. Was a very old building narrow stairs with noisy doors. There were plumbing leeks in bathroom and tiny flying insects. Not very clean.

Hi there Thanks for the review. We do not advertise a Habour view but you can see the Opera house from a couple of the rooms. It is true we have stairs however warn prior to booking there is no elevator and mobility challenged guests may or may not have issues (not many people read this unfortunately) And unfortunately when one opens the windows as one can in our building, little insects do fly in but some guests like to have that fresh air option. Sorry to hear about your stay. Unfortunately these guests did not book the room they thought they had and their daughter let them know they had booked a shared bathroom room, even though it mentioned it in big bold writing for $130 per night. We were not able to move them due to the fact we were full. Always unfortunate that the description was not read and the property penalised. Disappointing. Warm regards

Breakfast was great with a yummy variety of hot and cold entrees. Seating was available both inside or outdoors in the shaded garden. The breakfast staff were very attentive. Though the bathroom and shower room were down the hall, it felt private. It was a great value for the price. Great location if you’re leaving on a cruise or visiting the Sydney Opera House.

Good points close to where we needed to be.. bad points needs a good clean and a lick of paint! Staff lovely and tried to be helpful! Wasn’t keen on shared bathroom/toilets either. Breakfast was surprisingly ok. Bed linen was lovely an clean. The hotel is in an excellent location for the price

Nothing to like about this accommodation. Photo’s that are shown.i don’t believe are in this accommodation. We were allocated the loft. It was filthy the carpet on the floor was putrid and was rotted at the access to the balcony. No window only door to balcony which had broken furniture and timber venetians and dirt on it. No soap in bathroom. The ceiling fan didn’t work only a small fan that had been attached to the wall. The room stunk of mould and mildew. The bed was on its last legs sinking in the middle. Sorry this accommodation has left a very bad taste in our mouth. Feel completely ripped off.

We arrived late and the checkmin process was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. We chose to sleep in and missed the 9am cut off for breakfast so we didnt take advantage of that inclusion. However we dont usually eat breakfast anyway and got a coffee down the road later. Took advantage of the express check out service. Overall very happy

The location of this property is great. BUT When I read the other reviews I thought ‘ah I’m sure it can’t be that bad’. I was wrong. The property is dirty and in dire need of restoration. The photos do not represent the property. The room was dirty. Paintings fallen off the wall, dust and a dirty tea spoon, the towels on the bed for us were wet....The ‘private bathroom’ was in fact across a hall and was filthy - the shower drain is missing so you have to be careful you don’t inadvertently trip. The door to the room was stuck and you had to pull and push with all your mite to get it to open. I have feedback and the guy did give some fresh hand wash but when I asked the room to be cleaned we came back and could barely tell the different (the cockroach was where we left him in the bathroom floor...). The breakfast was ok... although the milk had lumps in it. There weren’t enough chairs for everyone who was staying.... This is the first time I’ve ever contemplated leaving a place I’d already paid for. Unfortunately with it being valentines weekend the rates for other places were just too much so we had to put up with it. Get an Airbnb instead for a similar price. If they cleaned the place properly and did some maintenance I’m sure it would be great again but it seems like they don’t care- my feedback has the same things on it as other reviewers. Such a shame.

IT was like the property was being worked on. I didn’t know where the toilets were. The lady who was running the place was not very helpful at all. She seemed to be pushy about her mother that was coming and said to me while I was having my coffee “you have to keep this area clear because my mother is coming soon” I certainly will not be staying here again!

I found the staff rude and unhelpful. The property was grubby and uncared for. The shared toilet could not be fastened and the shower was not clean and had broken floor tiles.

The people working there are nice and helpful. Sadly, I saw the biggest cockroach of my life in the bathroom upstairs and ended up finding a baby cockroach in the other bathroom the next night. The room had supposed air conditioning, but it functioned more as a fan. Bed and breakfast were ok. Cute outdoor area with an excellent location.

Ok place to stay
Great location, walking distance to Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Opera House, lots of neighborhood pubs. Neighborhood seemed safe enough, but a bit deserted. Service was minimal, room was bare minimum (no mirror) & shared bathroom was on second floor & down the hall, it was not very clean, although not sure if it was the people I had to share with or what, but the owners leave by 4:30pm, so you best not need anything after that. Breakfast was timely & good. Lovely little patio area out back but closes after breakfast, so you can't go out any time you please.

The patio area is also always open for anyone who wishes to use it. The door maybe shut to prevent leaves and dirt blowing in. Kind regards The SHBBteamx

The toilet has a constant leak which is a terrible waste of water. Other than that the property is simply gorgeous, in a spectacular location and the staff are lovely.

Dirty rooms
The hotel is in a good location but it is in bad condition. I checked in a budget room, it was dusty, qtip on the floor, bathroom is on another floor, no access to a fridge. I switched to a townhouse and it was a dirty, sad and run down room. The bed was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was covered in mildew everywhere. The patios were useless as they were so dirty, the tables and chairs were covered in thick dust. The breakfast is good but it is same every day.

Great location, comfortable bed & good AC. Shower leaks so wet bathroom floor. Need to be a giraffe to watch TV. Someone please lower the TV. Floor needed a good clean.
