Reasonably well maintained building close to local shops and attractions. A bit of a route march to a limited space room, unable to get knees under table to use laptop. Overall pleasant if a bit impersonal. Peterborough town centre is the most unpalatable I've recently visited. It seemed young men were coursing the shopping centre in gangs and I would not have liked my wife going out alone at night. I moved my wallet to a zippable pocket when out. The cathederal was worth the visit though.

Service great, festively decorated, but the bathroom was somewhat akin to a fridge. Did not appear to be heated at all.

The room could have been a bit warmer but that is my only comment - The heater didn't seem to work. Other than that, convenient place to stay in Peterborough, room quiet even at the front of the hotel, would stay again (and check heating before heading out for the evening :)

The Hotel is an oasis in a sea of desperate looking individuals who hang around the nearby streets. Nothing to do other than visit pubs you would have given a large swerve to back home, but it’s a decent hotel, however the menu is not what it was before Great Western acquired it.

I had phoned earlier to say that I would be late, The night staff were rude and wouldn't hand me the key to the second room I had booked as my daughter hadn't arrived. They charged me again for the room and didn't give me directions to the room at first. We went from nook to corner to find our room! The second room When I finally got the key was in another part of the building and had no air con -on the hottest day of the year which was unbearable. The day staff were competent and gave me the refund for the extra payment taken and also gave me the key to the second room I had booked!

Overall ok
Bed comfortable, room ok, breakfast good, bar ok, bar food ok, good parking (though entrance and exit barriers not working so not overly secure but better than public parking), location convenient for city centre. Overall ok.

Only stayed for one night but from the first time I contacted the hotel (to get driving directions) I was surprised by the poor customer service. This was no better when I was by bluntly told that check in was not until 2 and that bags could not be dropped off due to limited storage. Finally got to the room which was basic (this is a 4 star hotel?) with no hand soap in the bathroom and a single shower gel as the only toiletry. Definitely do not recommend and would not stay again.

Traditional Hotel
Hotel was lovely, room clean and breakfast was great, but service a little slow and at times unhelpful and when we reported 2 lights out on arrival, they still hadn't been fixed by the time we left. Not a deal breaker, but disappointing. Excellent location.

Good But!
Average, we are local and know the city well. But if I was visiting I'd be concerned, tramps, drug users and drunks outside every time we left we was greeted by one hanging around near the front of the hotel. They wasn't any harm to us be not nice to see. Hotel itself was fine and the food smelt good but we didn't sample any. The room was comfortable and we would probably stay again as it's a good location and good value for money.

Disappointing
Disappointed with room, booked a king size got a double, dirty bedding and towels left on floor of room when we checked in, bathroom was dirty. Room very basic considering what we paid. Breakfast was a disaster and poor quality

Hotel was clean and comfortable the only negative thing was no air con needed it as it was 31 degree that weekend. A fan was available it helped but all in all an enjoyable stay

Recommend for stays in Peterborough
Great location in Peterborough. Clean and quiet room. Car park a bit difficult to find (Google maps doesn't exactly know the way) but no problems with parking once you get there via Fitzwilliam street.

Hard bed. Too hard
Clean hotel , staff attentive. Room lovely. Bed like a bullet. Too hard leaving both of us aching and tired, not a great sleep.
