Booked over a month in advance as a Christmas getaway for my partner and I as well as it being as part of our anniversary. We booked a standard room as the photos looked beautiful of the rooms. However when we arrived we got given our room key and was told to head down the stairs to get to our room. We walked down the right dark stairs into the basement and walked through the small corridor until we arrived at our room door. When we opened it we came to find a TINY room with almost no room at either side of the bed. Now, we have never ever complained in our life but this 2 night stay cost us almost £400! And I’ve stayed in premier inns which are far better. So we went back up and explained to reception about the room. She was extremely nice however there was no standard rooms available for us to move into so we had to downgrade with not money back to a cosy room. As much as the cost room was FAR better than the original room it still didn’t compare to the ones shown in the images. We cut our losses here and stayed in the cosy room which was a fairy sweet comfortable room. My main reason for the review is that I DO NOT believe that the standard room that we received originally should have ever been given to us at that price. I would agree that it is okay to stay in at a greatly discounted price but it absolutely was not anything like the photos or worth the money.

Lovely stay
1 night stay, 2 double beds and 2 complimentary drinks as it was my b, a lovely touch. Beds fabulous , lovely bath robes, breakfast was really good. So glad we opted for this hotel. Location is good, out the way but central to shops. Hope to be back soon

Good Location
I have stayed in Edinburgh a few times, but this was my first at voco Edinburgh. The location is great, a short walk from Princes Street. The location also felt safe to walk back to at night. The rooms were clean and had everything you'd need. My only issue was noise - I could often hear people in other rooms and the cleaners were particularly noisy when in the rooms above. Other than that, we had a lovely stay and would come again.

Great location, friendly staff, quite smart from the outside but the rooms aren't great and the breakfast restaurant has all the charm of a motorway services. For the price it was less than expected and the regular false fire alarms (1 at 3.45 am) were not great.

It was wonderful staying)) I had experienced with good reception I don’t remember here name. She was polite and friendly 😍😍 Room was nice 👍 but a/c a bit not warm our room properly it’s little cold. Not such a good quality for money
We asked for shampoo and soap and never received it, we bought our own instead. The room was super cold and the air conditionning wasn't working to warm it up. Also the cooling air co did always turn on by midnight so we had to stand up to turn it of again. We catched a cold during our first 2 days in scotland because of it. Breakfast room wasn't that nice and clean. Windows were durty you couldn't see the garden. Glasses from the previous night where still on the terrasse in the morning. Breakfast room was crowded; i was vry hoping for a good english breakfast but the eggs tasted like powder eggs. It wasn't such a good quality for money. I should have lower my standards and expectations, hotels are always very expensive in capitals but it is no garantee fro quality. However the staff was very nice and friendly.

Location was good. Breakfast was nice and versatile. Room was small, bed hard and narrow. Reception staff was just ok. We had pre-paid the stay, but still I was asked to make a payment upon arrival. Atmosphere in general wasn’t very good. I don’t think it’s a four star hotel, more like a three stars.

We had a nice cozy room but no place to store clothes other than hanging in closet…needs a bureau. Also we had friends whose room was twice the size without an upcharge…..hotel might want to inquire if traveling with others to avoid comparisons. Very convenient and i would recommend.

Our entire stay was wonderful. Interactions with staff felt like talking with close friends, and our room was beautiful, spacious, and super clean. Breakfast options were plentiful, and the lounge was a wonderful and calm end to every day. Would stay again in a heartbeat! Loved it

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer perfekten Lage. Innerhalb weniger Minuten zu Fuß ist man zentral an Bus und Tram, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bars und Restaurants. Das Hotel an sich ist mittelmäßig und völlig überteuert. Das Frühstück wechselt überhaupt nicht, das Personal jung freundlich, aber völlig ungeschult den Anschein nach und überfordert zudem nicht professionell. Im Restaurant findet man selten ein Platz der gedeckt ist, geschweige denn sauber. Überall in den Fluren steht Geschirr in den Ecken, was der Service scheinbar nach dem Zimmer machen vergisst, da es ständig überall rumsteht. Das Hotel an sich von innen hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Fenster sind extrem dreckig überall im Hotel. Der Außenbereich sieht auf den Fotos sehr schön aus, Realität jedoch anders. Ein Gärtner wäre hier mal angebracht. Die Kosten waren überhaupt nicht gerechtfertigt. Die Lage ist perfekt, aber im gesamten keine Empfehlung.

Anteriormente nos alojamos con varios problemas, ahora cambio de propietarios y compañia y dimos otra oportunidad. Le envie 1 email y mencione lo ocurrido anteriormente, y ni me contestaron. Nadie habla español en el hotel, la llave se nos desactivo dos veces, una de las camas sin hacer, otro dia no dejaban usar la terraza, otro dia no dejaban pagar en metalico...continuos problemas que hacen que no sea comoda la estancia, finalmente salvo que nos den una explicacion, no volveremos
