The owners are so kind, friendly, and thoughtful! I stayed here the night before the eclipse, and because they knew people wanted to leave early the next day to beat the eclipse traffic, they moved up the start of breakfast (poached eggs and bacon hash, yum!) an hour. The hotel is beautiful and has wonderful views of the surroundings, including the lake, from windows. There is a nice loop around the lake that can be done, and hiking trails nearby. There is a cozy atmosphere in the winter, when there will be small fires burning in the common areas where guests can mingle and relax.

Everything was impressive - the cleanliness, the decor, the hospitality, the food, the coziness. I highly recommend The Follansbee Inn for those wishing for a relaxing getaway.

The breakfasts were all outstanding! My room was really stuffy and stale smelling with no ventilation. The one window had an air conditioner in it, making fresh air impossible. Not having the clean NH air and coolness at night was disappointing. I had to rely on the air conditioner and a loud fan. There was not a mixer for the hot and cold water in the shower. I fully understand that the Inn was built long before air conditioning and cannot be retrofitted.

The owner was very welcoming upon arrival. Our room was beautifully set up and very clean. The breakfast was delicious! It’s a 5 star B&B!

We should have called the Inn to book our stay. Hotels.com booked one instead of two days stay so we had to leave the Inn on Thanksgiving Day. The staff was friendly and genuine.

Follansbee Inn was a wonderful place to stay, staff was so awesome, Inn was very clean and a perfect place to unwind and relax. The breakfast each morning was 5 star quality.

My husband and I like everything about this property. It's a unique, beautifully-decorated inn. Clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfasts served in a breathtaking dining room. Within walking distance to beautiful Kezar Lake. We've spent weekends here three years in a row, and hope to continue the tradition.

The quintessential New England inn. A lovely, well-maintained, old inn. Everything, from the country setting to the gracious hosts make this an excellent choice for a restful stay.

Wonderful Inn! Amazing breakfast served by the host Dennis. Beautiful surrounding and quaint village. Right by Kezer lake and use of canoe or kayak as you wish. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Definitely Recommend!
We stayed at the Follansbee Inn for 2 nights for a wedding in the area, and our stay was just perfect! I love the common areas of the Inn, and we were made to feel comfortable the entire time. The breakfasts were outstanding as well - you certainly won't leave hungry! We didn't have time to enjoy the outdoor area, but there is a nice beach with canoes/kayaks to use as well. I would definitely recommend a stay at The Follansbee Inn!

Lovely Victorian-era inn on lake
If you enjoy antique inns located on a lake with excellent breakfasts and no interaction with the innkeeper, then you'll love this inn. We stayed on the third floor (no elevator) in the Rylee Rose room, which faced the lake. The view of the lake from this corner room was terrific, plus it included an alcove with a comfortable loveseat, which was great for reading when the weather didn't cooperate. The bathroom was very small, with just enough room for a sink, toilet, and bathtub. The breakfasts at this inn were delicious, which included fresh-squeezed orange juice and cold cider, yogurt, homemade granola, assorted cereals, assorted coffees and teas, along with a hot entrée and fruit. The innkeeper is also the chef, so the only time he was observed was during breakfast as he brought out food. We enjoyed relaxing by the lake enjoying the loons, along with walking around the lake. The inn provide kayaks and bicycles, which is a nice ammenity. Note: There're NO TVs at this inn, so if you can't live without it bring your devices. Also, if you're handicapped or allergic to dogs, don't stay here because two dogs reside here and roam the inside and outside areas (very friendly), plus there's no elevator and LOTS of narrow stairs (all rooms are on the second and third floors).

Charming place! Lake with dock and kayaks, canoes and fresh lake swimming, lots of chairs nicely spaced. Bikes and paddle boards in barn free to use. Hiking nearby. Scrumptious generous breakfast in large but intimate dining room lovely plates! Room was impeccably clean and roomy with window a/c I didn’t need. Windows screened opened and evening air pleasant. Quiet as can be. No negatives - lovely place and I’ll go back!

Top notch inn
Beautiful inn, wonderful setting, and breakfasts that were truly amazing (the owner is from Louisiana and the breakfasts reflected that). The room and room details were "white glove" clean. The owner made guests feel welcome and comfortable. I traveled solo but this would be a tremendous location for a family reunion or other group gathering (mindful of COVID restrictions). Each room was decorated differently with antique furniture and fixings. An absolute gem.

Historical inn opposite pretty lake
Just finished a lovely two-night stay at this historic inn and loved every minute there! We stayed in the family suite on the third floor, which accommodated my husband and I, along with our adult daughter. There was plenty of space, comfortable queen bed for us, and twin beds in our daughter’s room. Only issue was the bathroom, which had a claw foot tub and since I’m still recovering from hip replacement surgery, there was no way I could climb into the tub. The beautiful lake across the street from the inn had plenty of seating, so we enjoyed relaxing there listening to the lions (so peaceful!). There were plenty of kayaks available to explore the lake, which many of the guests enjoyed. Breakfast both mornings was FABULOUS—Dennis, you’re a terrific chef! We highly recommend this quaint inn, which is only 10 minutes from New London with plenty of restaurants to choose from. One caveat: this inn has stairs EVERYWHERE, so there’s no accessibility.

Everything said in every other 5* review is accurate. away from everything but not a super far away drive - check. quiet, peceful, and scenic - check. rooms comfortable, cozy, and clean - check. owner/innkeeper/chef Denis making you feel at home - check. relaxed and recharged after stay - check. yeah, the reviews are pretty spot on.

Loved the freedom of using the kayaks, canoes, bikes and outside area. Did a lot of swimming, three mile hike around the lake can’t be missed. And a belly rub for angel the dog who is quite and not visible often. Bed is comfortable and linings are top end!
