This place is about location. It is right on the beach. The hotel itself is ok though a bit soulless. I loved the thick duvets and the bed was comfortable. The wifi did not function for me at least half of the time. The breakfast was very generous.

Staff was exceptional. Friendly, helpful. Wonderful breakfast. Great view of ocean and beach. Minor repairs due in bathroom. Did not bother us. Appreciated efficient AC. Black out curtains effective. Good value for the money. Maxim restaurant just out front door Would stay again Beautiful pool

Excellent location! Breakfast is also very good. You’ll find everything you need at a walking distance. But it’s a very busy hotel.

The property is well located on Copacabana beach. The aircon works well., the rooftop pool and bar were the highlight. On the downside the rooms feel highly- trafficked, and could do with some sprucing up, bathroom amenities were negligible. It does offer value for money during normal times. Its Carnaval pricing is as rapacious as anywhere else in Rio ( which us to be expected). All that said, I would stay there again.

This is a reasonable price for a hotel right on Copacabana Beach. It offers a variety of rooms including oceanview and mountain view at a higher rate. (My room offered a wall of curtains with a 12'' high frosted window close to the ceiling. Functionally unnecessary but added a softness. I wasn't there enough to care.) room was exceptionally clean. They offer an amazing breakfast buffet for any diet. Delicious quiche. Wonderful breads. No hot black tea. Doormen were always good at securing cabs (who sometimes took us on a longer route). Lovely rooftop view of Christo as well as pools and bar. Quiet at night. Next door to Maxim's restaurant with excellent food and the amazing national lime drink. We ate several meals here and tried both seafood and beef and it was all outstanding. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

O Hotel tem uma infraestrutura muito boa! Entretanto, os colchões são antigos e péssimos! Todo desnivelado! Quando a pessoa deita, afunda mais ainda! Pedi para trocar o colchão e substituíram por outro tão ruim quanto o que foi substituído!

Não vale o preço que é cobrado .
Internet não funcionava , reservei duas camas de solteiro e me deram um quarto com cama de casal . Pedíamos pra limpar o quarto quando íamos para a praia , na volta ainda não havia sido limpo . A suposta gerente Natália nunca estava presente no hotel para resolver as demandas . Lâmpadas queimadas no quarto . Apenas um atendente na hora de maior movimento do chekin . Pelo preço que é cobrado não vale a pena . Não recomendo , tem que melhorar muito . Limpeza bem superficial . Café da manhã é satisfatório , porém o suco que servem é de “pozinho” é puro açúcar ( impossível de beber ). Ar condicionado do quarto funciona bem . Banheira velha , da até medo .Produtos de toalete de baixa qualidade para um hotel 4 estrelas . No geral de 0 a 10 , indico uma nota 6 . A vista da janela para a praia é bonita .

Some of the staff members were very kind while others seemed annoyed to have guess who didnt speak the Language. The area was extremely unsafe filled with homeless people and the smell was terrible. We almost got robbed at the beach and were told we had to leave as we were being targettted to be robbed by many at the beach. Will not come back or recommend.

Excellent staff. Great breakfast buffet.
Very good hotel in the middle of Copacabana Beach. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. The daily buffet breakfast offers plenty of variety and lots of fresh fruit and homemade pastries. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel muito bom. Localização excelente, piscina ótima para crianças pois fica na cobertura e por conta do sol, a temperatura da água fica muito agradável. O café da manhã é bem completo, adoramos. Unica reclamação é que usaram duas camas de solteiro para formar cama de casal e ficou um pouco desconfortável.

Nice location at copacabana. But the room were dirty, curtain old dirt. Towels first in bad shape. Old garbage, papers unde beds.

O atendimento supera qualquer ponto negativo.
Excelente localização, café da manhã e principalmente atendimento. Tem serviço de praia. A área da piscina é bastante agradável. O hotel é antigo, mas está sendo renovado. A recepção ficou muito bonita. O quarto necessita de mais manutenção. A luz no banheiro estava muito fraca e o ar-condicionado do quarto é antigo. O ar vem bem em cima da cama, não tem como regular a saída para cima. Porém o atendimento supera qualquer ponto negativo.

November 2023: Do yourself a favor and avoid staying at the Astoria Palace by all means. The Wi-Fi signal in this hotel must be the worst in Brazil, do not rely on the internet connection in this hotel because you will lose your time. Rooms don't have iron equipment and when you request one at the reception they say you could go to any near store and buy one yourself. The pool at the rooftop closes at 10pm and after a hot day in Rio you would appreciate an extended hour operation there. Now I know why this hotel was the cheaper at the Copacabana beach side: because their lobby is on maintenance and the construction is very noisy. People only speaks Portuguese.

Overestimated. A true disappointment.
The hotel is supposed to be 4-star. It is also located in front of the beach in Copacabana. Its price per night is pretty expensive but my thought was that it was because of all the things I mentioned before. I have never been so disappointed. The sheets were dirty when we arrived. Tried to upload a but this app won't let me. thought that maybe the housekeeping made a mistake and forgot to change the sheets för new guests. We told the reception and they told us they would change it during the day. We came back during the evening and it was still the same sheets. We had to tell the reception again until they finally changed the disgusting sheets. It's impossible to call the reception from the room. The phone was so old so they couldn't hear you. They would just say "we can't hear" and then end the call. The room serve, I had to call them several times because they never pick up. When they guy finally picked up he couldn't speak English oh only spoke Portuguese. I couldn't order anything. The breakfast buffet was also a disappointment. The variety is really bad. I think hotel F1 has a better breakfast than them. There were scrambled eggs that were so dry that they were stuck together. The cleaning in the room was also bad. The floors had sand and dust everywhere. We always take off our shoes before going inside so we didn't bring dirt with us. The dirt was already there. Everything I would lie on the bed I had to dust off my feet. Overall I would never go back to this hotel.
