I believe it was value for money, basic but clean and staff were supportive and efficient. No central heating, only a wall heater so room was cold during the night. Needs a bigger duvet as was too slim even for a single bed! Excellent location for station and centre. On main road but back rooms very quiet. Busy road with bars and clubs, good shops for essentials and variety restaurants.

I arranged a 2-night stay at Hotel Belmonte through Expedia: on the webpage, no mention of a NIGHTCLUB the hotel is situated above is provided. This listing is misleading in that such essential information has been omitted: if I had been made aware that the hotel is situated above a club, I would not have booked it. After checking in, I took photographs of the room to show the disgusting, broken and run-down condition of it- they’re all attached here. On the nighttime, it was apparent how disturbing the nightclub was due to the loud, thumping music. Even after it closed at 3am, patrons were still loitering and shouting outside; it was apparent they were not being moved on out of respect for hotel guests. This resulted in two nights of little to no sleep. Security staff outside the hotel implored us to get a refund, as they were fully aware of Hotel Belmonte’s deceptive way of advertising. When I complained to the hotel manager, he simply said, “There’s nothing I can do” and gestured for me to leave. When I contacted Expedia for a refund, their process involved- wait for it- ASKING PERMISSION from the manager for me to get my money back. He said no. As far as Expedia was concerned, that was the matter closed. Still considering Hotel Belmonte? No, I didn’t think so.

Parking was awkward and the room amenities were very dated but the location of the property was next to loads of clubs and shops, and the room did the job just as intended.. for somewhere to sleep once you’re all partied out!

This is a great budget option for a short stay in Norwich. We had seen the reviews warning about the noise from the nightclub below so came prepared with earplugs, unfortunately they didn't block the noise. Bed and room were comfortable, probably better for a midweek stay.

The facilities are not well maintained. Parts of the room were dusty. There was rust around the sink fixtures. Hard to sleep as it is next to a nightclub.

I found the concept of this hotel doubling up as a night-club slightly unusual, but don't let that put you off staying here. Far from it, this actually adds to its appeal. The room I was staying in was OK, as I was only there for a couple of nights. So I didn't need a great deal to get by while staying there. It's very easy to get to, because if your traveling to Norwich by train. It's literary five minutes walking distance, also if your on a tight budget like I was do consider putting this hotel on your list. But because it's quite a small hotel, it doesn't have that many rooms. The only issue I did have was that if you need help from the staff, they are not always around. Also if you stay at the hotel during the weekend, do take into account that from 11pm till 3am, is when the night-club opens up. So you might find it hard to get some sleep, but don't let that put you off. Apart from that, it's a lovely little hotel which is worth checking out.

The guy checking was nice. No staff in the morning during check out. Bathroom sink was all cracked. Heating was not great. Noisy outside otherwise it was a good size room. I would go back if I had to be in the area.

We've stayed here a number of times over many years. It's great if you're out for the night and need somewhere to sleep. Good location, good value, kept clean. Its above a club so probably not ideal if you're looking for an early night.

A room above a Nightclub/Bar - Didn't hear a thing!!! Greeted on arrival and given front door and room keys. Although the stairs were narrow, they led to a reasonably sized clean single room Tea/Coffee facilities with cartons of UHT Cream + milk and biscuits were available And a warm comfortable bed

The hotel was nice but my only issue was the shower it was very small and had the stairs leading upto the next floor over the shower restricting access to the shower and the bath. I asked about moving but was told I would not be able so that was the only issue we had.

Dont stay here
This hotel is somewhere i would avoid. Broken shiwer door and shower no remote for the tv etc. Need a refurbishment urgently and then the noise in the night !!!

Good night's sleep
Well presented, and well thought out room: everything I needed. I was warned about noise before my stay with option to cancel. Noise is inevitable due to the location but I appreciated the call. I slept well, comfy bed, additional heaters in room and bathroom. The only reason I wouldn't give this top marks is only because some of the furniture is a little worn, that doesn't particularly bother me but just isn't top marks in my opinion.

Nice clean rooms but you're above a nightclub that shuts at 04:00! Probably a good place Mon-thur but avoid at the weekend of you value your sleep!

Nice little hotel
Quite tricky to find if you weren’t sure, but check-in was quick and hassle free. Room was clean and comfortable with a view of the Cathedral! All facilities were fine, with plenty of room. Bathroom was clean and fresh. There was some noise outside from a local club but wasn’t too bad if you closed the window!

This is a budget hotel and the decor is in keeping with that. Everything was clean and perfectly acceptable. The room was en suite and had a good shower. If have no problems starting here again at the price I paid, but wouldn't pay more.
