We just stayed here a night as we were getting the ferry to Koh Kood island the next morning. Once through the reception area, you soon forget you’re just off a main road as you’re transported to a Mediterranean-style oasis. The pool is lovely and we could access it from our room by hopping over the low wall. Rooms had all the mod cons, were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. Location-wise, the hotel is situated on a street just off the main drag of Trat. There are a few shops and a music bar within a couple of minutes walk. It took us around 15-20 minutes to get to the centre of town, and while not a particularly picturesque walk, it felt safe and the people watching kept us more than occupied!
Only slight complaint with the hotel was the organisation at breakfast. As well as a small buffet, guests can order off a menu. But there’s no clear system which meant our omlettes got delivered to another table. Despite allowing what we thought was ample time for a leisurely breakie, we ended up having to reorder and had to wolf down our meals when they eventually arrived. But the staff were lovely and the value for money was excellent so overall I’d definitely recommend the Toscana!
