Safe and close to town
The staff were the best!!!! Small ants were bit annoying. Best spot to walk to town, felt safe. Need some curtains at the windows. I will stay again next time!!

The property was quiet n save. Locations was just right for me n the kids. Easy to go to the Ccentral and back. Enjoyed our stay.

Motel in posizione strategica. Reception che chiude dalle 12 alle 14. Attenzione al l'orario di arrivo quindi. Stanze pulite. Non vi è servizio giornaliero di pulizia della stanza. Ci siamo trovati molto bene e lo consiglio per chi vuole passare qualche giorno in pieno centro di Cairns. Gentilissimi nel darci una stanza grande per il nostro anniversario di matrimonio. Location was good. It was neat and good. The prices could have been higher. The great disappointment was not providing aircon and not even a fan in the bunkbed rooms was disappointing. The fact that they have charged quite low doesnt give us to understand that basic amenities like providing fan in Cairns/tropical places was hard to believe. If fans are not provided they should have described in the offer. before being booked and that no fans and no aircon was a real punishment. Such rooms without fans should be against law and must be banned. Let them charge more but provide table fans/floor fans or say clearly that there are no fans.

Great stay
A great hotel to stay in after a few days on the road. The location was perfect! Close to the ocean, harbour, restaurants and other activites. Also the airport which was great.

Very disappointed that the aircon did not work. Lucky we found a fan in the cupboard otherwise we would of had to sleep outside because the room was too hot.

Basic but Central
Frankly the accommodation is basic, a spin off from a backpackers hostel. It's benefits would be a central location & possibly cost. In the hostel side a single room has no facilities whatsoever, no hangers, no glasses, TV without remote & a sagging bed. On the non-backpackers side, where I had to move at additional cost, 3 hangers, glasses & crockery, microwave & remote for TV. During my 6 nights stay, no servicing of the room. The possible benefits would be a central location & maybe cost.

Good Location and Friendly Staff
The location is great, check-in smooth, and we got a good deal on a private room which was clean and tidy, and all tours picked-up from front door. The only issue was the condition of the hostel common kitchen/dining due to other guests who need someone to clean up after them.

Couldn't get much worse.
When reading about this place I understood that I was Getting my own room with shared Bathroom and facilities. I got a room with 4 sets of Bunk Beds and 6 out of 8 Beds were taken and I had the Choice of 2 Top Bunks. At Sixty Seven and worn out Ankles,Knees and a Bad Back I explained I couldn't get up there I was then told I could have a Family room but had to pay another $90. I reluctantly paid it and Having just met a Guy who had worked in the same game as me and was meeting up with People I might know showed me round and we had a Magic night till after midnight got back to my room to find it full of Cockroaches I spent the Next 2 hours clearing them out before grabbing a Couple of Hours and had to wait till doors opened so to get the Car out and away.

You get what you pay for.
Pros: Toilet flushed, water drained, good water pressure, air conditioning was better than nothing. Cons: Filthy - the shower was coated in mold, the air conditioner was held together with duct tape, there were hairs all over the bathroom floor, the room looked like it was all-around falling apart, not sure if housekeeping changes the sheets after each checkout, ants!, etc. Overall, pretty gross place to stay. I'd recommend you drop a few extra bucks for a decent place. If you don't mind living in filth to save a few bucks, this place was tolerable.

Koala Last Resort
When it comes to the dorm/share rooms at least, I would avoid this one. Air conditioner didn't work, the room was hotter than it was outside. Opened the windows but, with no screens, mosquitoes and other bugs got in. It was so hot it was impossible to sleep. The sheets had some very conspicuous stains. There was no handle on the bathroom door. The place in general is kinda gross. The check-in staff were quite helpful and nice though. The neighborhood is a little dicey, but on the upside it's only about two blocks from the water. It is very cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for, but I would pay a little bit more and stay at one of the many cleaner, better maintained hostels in the area.

Cheap price-Cheap everything!
The only good thing about this place is definitely the location. It is close to everything in the city and you can walk easily to esplanade and the Marine. The bedrooms are extremely hot, I didn't sleep at all during the 3 nights I stayed there. There is no fan and the windows are completely open and there is not fly screen so imagine that. The day I arrived I was before check in time so they told me to go back after 2 pm to pay and have the key but I was there to enjoy Cairns come on! Then I came back at night and the Night Manager was really nice but I had to write in a piece of paper my credit card details (which I think it is not good). The next day I had an all day tour so I came back late and my towel and sheet were gone and I had a "message" on a piece of paper saying: "Please come to reception as your card was insufficient for the payment" with my name on it so everyone could see it. I had to go and see the NM again and asked him for another towel and sheet (he was super nice). The thing is why they did not charge me when I first arrive? They should know most of the travellers are there to see as much as we can! It is a very cheap place so the conditions are according to the price (the bathroom was gross). I would say that if you have a very limited budget and will visit the city for a few days, it's ok but I would never ever stay there again.
