Place was ok. Registration unpleasant. First thing, the woman informs me, in quasi-accusatory tone, that my MC had refused payment. I asked her to try same card again, and she did then put on an "I told you so" face. My daughter offered that a US card often texts you for confirmation. I checked, and sure enough... My wife then came forward with a card, and the woman said, matter-of-factly, that'll be 500 or so. I raised the issue that Travelocity had confirmed a 150 US, so, even with exchange, we shouldn't come over 350. Then i was lectured that they naturally went by Canadian numbers (which I'd already acknowledged) and that they tagged on a fee just in case. A pleasant person would have simply stated, "There seems to be a problem with the credit card," and offered solutions. Then, even before my question of extra fees, she should've explained what added up t what. As it was, I was being judged from the start by this smug person who was only too glad to find me wanting. And, for the record, I actually am Canadian, living in the US these days - though I held back from joining her sour attitude with an equally judgmental retort.

I had a very nice one night stay. Yes, it is old and may need some upgrades. But on another hand - old-fashioned style is actually what makes it non-standard and leaves very nice memories.

It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was holiday Monday and most places are closed and the receptionist, when I asked, told me about a good place to have supper. the food was very good but the place was so busy with only the manager and 1 girl working that we have to wait. The motel itself was good looking and the grounds were kept clean. The pool, on our observation, looked very clean and looked after.

It could use some modernization. Of all the hotels we have stayed at in the last 20 some years, this is the only one we know who still use wool blankets and bedspreads. The sheets and blankets are very old and thin. The bathtub has anti skid strips which could use some cleaning or replacement. Will not stay there again.

Hôtel charmant
Hôtel charmant. Personnel très sympathique et professionnel. Nous avons apprécié la piscine et le jacuzzi et regretté de ne pouvoir profité du sauna en rénovation. Chambre double assez spacieuse pour une famille de 4. Mais la clim est trop bruyante.

Pet Policy with a $400 hold on your credit card in addition to a fee per night and a long list of don’ts, including hanging a sign on your door to let everyone know you have a dog. I expect there needs to be rules for irresponsible pet owners. If you say you are pet friendly, have pet friendly rooms, preferably on the ground floor and it is ok for pets to get fur on the furniture. I feel for the staff that need to communicate the pet policy which is likely met with push back from pet owners.

This property is very outdated and shows the wear in every area. One of the most noticeable things is the oder in the lower level rooms. It is a problem to anyone sensitive to smells. Comfortable beds were the best part.

Old and oudated. Small pool outside by the parking lot. No car charger. No breakfast at the restaurant. The Gym was closed for reno.

Old building and they charge like a newer hotel
I booked this hotel although it was not one of the cheapest in the area, and I assumed I would have a better overnight stay there, but it was very disappointing. everything look so obsolete and bad odour everywhere. I was just waiting for the morning to to take my things and go.

Though the staff were excellent the property has seen better days. It is dated and needs to be updated. The food was okay but the prices were high.

An older hotel, it's a little dated; however, the room and bathroom were very clean. The pillows could have been a little newer. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel's diningroom; the food was good and our server was lovely.

Easy to find off Hwy 2, this property provides a decent, clean, stay. Check-in took a bit of time, but there was a computer system change, so it was understandable. Staff was all very courteous and helpful. Rooms have everything needed and are super quiet. Beds are comfy. We had a tasty supper at the the restaurant (Wing night special and the Chipotle Cilantro Chicken bowl). I would definitely stay here again.

This property presents as a vintage ‘60s hotel. The rooms are comfortable and cheery. The bathroom of the room we were in was small with a hand basin in an adjacent alcove. This had distinct advantages, and drawbacks. My wife, daughter and I, loved the helpful attitude of the staff. We have vowed to stay at the McIntosh on any and all future occasions when visiting in the area.

Cheerful and friendly staff. Great place to stay if cycling the Long Sault Parkway or visiting Upper Canada Village or golf course. Great Wing Nite on Tuesday & Thursday’s!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We decided to try the restaurant on site which was fantastic and the staff were the best!
