This was my second stay at the Sandringham Hotel. It is not fancy, but it was clean & the staff were friendly. There is a decent cooked breakfast available on the weekends. It is a short 5 minute walk from Cardiff Central Train Station. There is no lift, & the hotel reception is upstairs from the street.

It was a great location, 5-10 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station. Very busy street so just be aware if you are staying at the weekend. The windows were fab though, you could barely hear anything with them closed. It may be a little dated, but so clean and very comfortable. Plenty of towels, and all the necessities such as hair dryer, kettle and drinks. The staff were so helpful, letting us store our luggage after checkout so we could go shopping. 5 minute walk from Cardiff Castle, 10 minute walk from the National Museum. They had a map for us, gave local information. Would recommend, and already have! Would stay again and book direct with the hotel next time as much nicer to deal with a real person in my opinion. Overall, lovely stay, beds so comfy we slept in almost til checkout time!

Was it a 5 star hotel? No. But it doesn’t pretend to be. It was however a decent 2 star hotel for the price. Yes, it's dated, but it was clean and had character, and it made a nice change from the soulless chain hotels I normally stop in.

There were no toiletries supplied only toilet paper . Lack of pillows . Found the bed very hard Very dated hotel

I am very sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay.There was a 500ml bottle of hand, hair and bodywash on the bath. More pillows would have been given on request. Beds are new so I am sorry that they were not to your liking.I’m sure we could have helped if you had spoken to us but sadly it seems you have decided not to. Thank you for trying us once. Fantastic location, you literally step out into the centre. Great value for money but be warned, there are quite a few steps to get up to reception and then your room as there is no lift.

Hotel was in the perfect location for us as we traveled to see a band which were playing a street away from the hotel. Was greeted by a lovely lady on reception (sorry don't know name) and she couldn't of been more polite and helpful. Considering the hotel is located in Cardiff city center it wasn't loud at night which was surprising. The room was the right temperature as well. Not too hot or cold. We had a pleasant stay and if we are ever in Cardiff again, this hotel will be our go to.:)

Great location

Great locality for City Centre; good price for weekday stay. Staff friendly & helpful. Hotel does need a bit of an update.

The property is old building but overall clean and good. Just one thing pity is no own parking. You have to park nearby NCP parking lot which was quite expensive but you can get discount code at hotels. The parking is the only issue. Hotel location is just at the center of the city. Close to shopping mall and the castle.

I love the fact that it’s family owned and just simple and nice. Be aware that there is no elevator and just stairs but it’s all good. Clean and friendly staffs as well.

Budget hotel with bath

Interior of the hotel is a bit outdated, but clean and functional. Small electric heating. It took time to heat the room, but after it stay nice warm for all our stay. Good value for money. Unlike another budget hotels, this one has a bath! No lift in the hotel

Convenient location. Pleasant room. Good for a city location. Good prices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Be prepared for lots of stair climbing if carrying many bags!

Very friendly, and centrally located hotel in the middle of Cardiff! Only negative the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night due to a guest showering and leaving the door open!

Great location

Very good location and the staff were great. Shower wasn't working properly, am sure it would have been fixed but we had to leave fairly early.

Will be staying here again.

Lovely place to stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming, place is nice and clean, and the beds are more than comfortable. Great location for anything in the middle of Cardiff too (and it's surprisingly quiet considering it's in the middle of St Mart's street). Will be staying here again.

Enkelt men trevligt boende med perfekt läge.

Fantastisk trevlig personal i receptionen. Service på hög nivå. Rummet tillräckligt stor för en familj. Ngt slitet men priset var därefter. Heltäckningsmattor som kändes sunkiga i korridor. Men vi är i UK. I november håller det värmen. Perfekt läge. Mitt bland mat, barer och shopping. Skulle jag återvända till Cardiff skulle jag välja detta hotell igen.

The hotel is in the city centre but the area is very noisy. You always hear shouting from the street and the loud ring of the door bell all the time from the first floor.
