My husband and I loved the retro feel of stepping back in time from the moment we stepped in the lobby. The friendly staff; history within those walls; the furnishings and decor, all are reminiscence of a simpler era. It has the feel of a mountain ski lodge in the 1940's, and, we loved all of the common areas, which are so rare in today's modern hotels that are all about cramming in more rooms to bring in $$$, instead of bringing people together in comfortable gathering spots around warm fireplaces (and there are several of these scattered around the lobby area, dining rooms, even outside under the covered porch). They were especially appreciated since we had extremely cold temps and snow while we were there for the long weekend!!
How are the beds in a historic hotel with antique furnishings? LIKE HEAVEN!! I slept better than I do at home on that comfy mattress!!
The location is wonderful! Centrally located on the main parkway, so a stroll in either direction is quick and easy, and gets to you to unique shops, great restaurants, and lots of fun entertainment!! Parking was easy, and we never moved our vehicle due to the convenient location.
We just can't say enough about our experience at Gatlinburg Inn, and can't wait for our next visit!!
