We stayed in the Chocolate Room six months ago and checked in on Dec. 31st, New Year's Eve. We got there at around 10 at night. Many of the other guests and the staff were asleep. The staff had contacted us earlier to let us know that there'd be an envelope on the front counter with our room information and that if we needed anything, we could call. We didn't mind this at all, in fact, we preferred it because it felt more intimate for our couple's getaway. When you walk in, it feels like you're in a really nice luxury vacation rental with a cabin feel. The lounge areas are beautiful and there were Christmas decorations up that made the whole atmosphere cozy. We found our room, which was decorated in a very cozy way. The bathroom was much bigger than I'd imagined it would be with a HUGE tub and there was champagne waiting for us on the desk in our room and a welcome letter. The travel toiletries were a higher-end,which was a nice touch. The actual location of the B&B was on a lake so that was nice. We're in our early-to-mid 20s and were visiting this part of the country to see the Biltmore. Most other guests were a little older, it was a classy crowd. No young college students. Mostly couples. GREAT breakfast. A sweet employee made my honey eggs benedict. Last thing to consider: when planning a romantic getaway is that this property is VERY romantic but not appropriate for loud guests. Almost the entire property has wood floors. Overall, wonderful stay! I'd visit again!
