Set in a beautiful location, the staff were very helpful and the accommodation was fantastic value for money - I'd thoroughly recommend staying here.

Great location
Good location, reasonable size room, good kitchen which was well equipped and the staff were excellent. Shower wasn't as clean as we would have expected and the light on the nearest toilet didn't work. Couple of nice pubs very close to the hostel.

Malodorous Malham Hostel
The room was dirty and cold (the heater didn't work). The ensuite bathroom was full of mildew and made the entire room smell.

Excellent location in a beautiful village. Unable to park on night 1 as no space, limited parking was highlighted so not an issue. Rooms are very clean, showers & toilet excellent. Absolute value for money & would stay again.

Parking not signposted well for arrivals in the dark. Sign informing drivers of reverse parking only visible in daylight, might have helped people park properly and leave more space for other vehicles. 2 bed rooms v small but ok for a one night stay. Anyone using toilets will disturb others sleeping in rooms nearby.

Friendly staff, the setting is beautiful and with a well equipped kitchen. . I have a very comfortable stay in the hostel, for sure, will stick with them, if ever I visit Malham Cove again.

Staying in a Dorm-never again
Shared a bunk beded dorm with a cyclist and 2 tenters chased into the YHA accommodation by wet weather. Cyclist eccentric but didn’t bother me overmuch. The two tenters had too much to drink and both snored very loudly. One in particular was almost unconscious and regularly had noisy dream episodes, farted like billyho, (wonder what his pants were like in the morning) coughing episodes followed by noisy loud noisy sighs. His “pal” rightly told him regularly during the night to shut up using various choice swear words. RESULT, I didn’t get any sleep at all until at least 330am and was glad to leave 4 hours later after very little sleep for a motorbike run of several hundred miles through inclement weather. Is this the way these people behave at home? Totally unacceptable! Other things that bothered me were the noisy female next door who was quiet before midnight thank goodness and no rolls on the morning to accommodate the sausage, just white bread and the plastic under sheets on the bed making for a very sweaty slippery unpleasant time on the bed while I whiled away the hours hoping for day to break. Are all hostels like this or am I just unlucky?

Thank you for taking the time to review the hostel. Sorry your stay was affected by other people in the dorm room, it is worth noting that private rooms are available which could be a better choice for the future.

Cons- No control measures in place to reduce the noise of the banging doors. Dampers ineffective. Very noisy. Communal kitchen too small. Pros- lovely area, friendly staff.

Many thanks for the review. We have a engineer coming out this week to look at the speed of the door closers. As YHA are one of very few accommodation providers to offer a self catering kitchen it does tend get busy at peak times so we encourage our customers to stagger it use. Lovely to hear you enjoyed the local area and thought our staff were a friendly bunch

Typical YHA - clean, warm, great location!
This YHA was up to the standard of all YHAs I have stayed in. Clean rooms, personal storage and space for each bunk and a well equipped common area. The staff were friendly, breakfast service was especially good and the buildings seemed to be well maintained. It wouldn't be the most stunning of all the YHAs around but the location a mere 50 yards from an excellent pub and at the heart of hiking and biking action I would defo recommend this.

YHA Malham
YHA Malham is very conveniently located in the middle of the village. The hostel offers all the services and facilities that you would expected and need from a youth hostel.

Great location, bit of country roads to get there. Close for Malham cove, Tarn, Janet’s Foss and Gordale scar. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Nice, clean and functional. Only negative was really small parking area and having to park at the other of the village! The Lister Arms next door is highly recommended for food and drink. Beautiful little village. Quite expensive though for a YHA

Quick break away from the noise of the city. Accommodation was of a good standard and helpful cheery staff. Close to the two pubs in the village.

Our stay was to get a good nights rest before walking a section of the Pennind Way The YHA room at Malham was perfect for this Very comfortable with options for cooked breakfast - very good value or prepare your own in well equipped kitchen Good evening meals also available
