We had a great stay here. The rooms are a little more on the rustic side, but I think that adds to the charm of staying here. It feels like you're living more like a local than as a tourist. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they made sure every need of ours was met at all times. There is a restaurant on the ground level that serves traditional Filipino food, and their specialty is roasted halal chicken. You can watch the chickens rotate on the spit, so you know it is fresh. Be sure to try it! The prices of the dishes are very reasonable. The hotel is a simple place, and some parts of the hotel are a little run down, but the place is kept very clean, and it feels like you're staying with your Filipino aunts and uncles. If you want more of a luxurious experience, definitely stay at one of the luxury hotels in Davao. If you want more of an authentic Filipino experience, stay here. I think the price of the room is very reasonable and the location is great for grabbing tricycles and jeepneys. At the end of the street there is even a laundromat that does wash and fold at very good prices with your clothes ready for pick up the next day. The hotel also can coordinate having a private driver bring you around to see the sights like Eden Nature Park, Malagos Garden and the Philippine Eagle Park. They can also call you a taxi whenever you need one.
