This older home has been magnificently remodeled and updated. It was a very nice change to stay an evening at this location as opposed to a hotel. Will definitely stay at the Hitching Horse Inn again if traveling through Pierre.

We liked the accommodation at the Hitching Horse Inn as it was in a convenient location, very clean and tidy, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpfu; staff and very comfortable. We would like to stay here again when visiting Pierre SD.

We stayed for a figure skating competition. Area was quiet and safe. Owner was sweet. Property had great charm and felt warm and inviting. We didnt get to enjoy the awesome breakfast because of the competition but will so try it next time! Would book again! 10/10

Wonderful stay - many thoughtful touches, warmly decorated, very kind staff. The only complaint I could have is that the traffic noise is loud if your room is on the front side of the house. However, there is a beautiful deck off the rooms on the front side of the house as well!

Beautiful and cozy home with traditional style. Room was spacious and equipped with a desk, private bath, TV and king bed. Breakfast was stellar! Deb is an amazing hostess and was happy to have a conversation with her. If you're looking for quaint, home feel this is the place for you!

Bit tricky to locate offsite room we reserved as we came into town after hours & at night unfamiliar to property set up. Great apartment, comfortable bed, updated nice decor, clean. Bathroom small/tight. Enjoyed the friendly, welcoming, accommodating staff & other guests.

I traveled with my husband and our child and booked a “business apartment”, which seemed in the listing to have two beds. Now, we did reserve through a third party site, which may have jumbled up the pictures or otherwise erroneously led us to that conclusion. We arrived later than we had planned around 9pm and found just the one bed in our room. The hosts had already retired for the night and all other rooms seemed to be occupied, so we made a little floor bed with the extra blankets. We also could not get the wifi network and password to work, although it was provided in multiple places. Pros were a beautiful old house and a cooked to order breakfast in the morning.

Gracious and hospitable hosts. Expedia quoted incorrect cost but Deb simply honored Expedia’s incorrect price. She said Expedia has overbooked their inn in the past and that really is troublesome. After this experience I have doubts about using Expedia. We realy appreciated how Deb handled this. I think it’s a nice place to stay especially if you want to walk to the Capitol

Lovely area and very quiet. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable. The only drawback was the lack of water pressure in our room. Very difficult to get a shower. Breakfast was excellent

Very cool restored home from the 1920's. Comfortable, quiet, and great people. Rooms not big but lots of other places in house to lounge around. Will stay there again.

My wife & I stayed at detached building a 1/2 a block away from the main lodge. My wife absolutely LOVED it, which is ALL that matters to me! Deb was an Amazing host AND chef & could not have been more pleasant & accommodating! Highly recommended!

Comfortable, clean, well decorated. Traveling by myself i opted for the smaller room but it was excellent. Other larger rooms looked very nice. Highly recommend

The Hitching Horse Inn was quaint and cozy. Everything was wonderful from the service to our delicious breakfast. They made you feel right at home with a self serve bar with wine and peer and a lovely porch to enjoy it on!
