Eine gute Nacht
Die neue Besitzerin Liz ist noch mitten im Umbruch. Unsere Reservierung war von den vorherigen Besitzern angenommen worden. Obwohl noch nicht geöffnet ist könnten wir übernachten und unsere Sonderwünsche wurden erfüllt. Es gibt noch einiges zu tun aber unser Zimmer war in Ordnung.

Great getaway
This is our second time at the Balmoral Hotel. Iris and her husband are such wonderful people. Yes the building is dated and the room are not the 5 star. What this hotel gives you is comfort and a sense of home. I don't need a 5 star hotel and the building has character. Iris and her husband make you feel at home. I was really sad when we left, Barry's Bay is beautiful !! I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you Iris for your hospitality. See you next year :)

Loved the covered porch for breakfast and evening drinks. We were there 4 nights, and it was like a home away from home. The owner, Iris, is terrific. Our room was roomy and spotless.

Me and my wife decided to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary by visiting Madawaska Valley this Fall Season and booked a room at the Balmoral Hotel. We enjoyed our stay at this scenic and beautiful hotel. Service is excellent and you feel the warm hospitality. Looking forward to a second visit to the beautiful and majestic city of Barry's Bay.

Our Trail Ride haven
Iris is lovely and was able to accomodate us and our atvs plus gear despite the restrictions of covid. We had a great time even thought the dining room had been closed due to the pandemic. She was able to rustle up some hot coffee and delicious muffins for the breakfast, which was great for our early start. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and neat. A blue and white stripe of the quilt made us felt like at home, warm and cozy. The lady was friendly and helpful. Talking with her during breakfast time the next morning was a nice way to start the day.

A place to come back
We stayed there only one night, but it was a nice night and very calm. The place is well located and the owners are friendly and helpful. ;) We will definitely come back next time!

You get what you pay for
The price was right for the one night we stayed there but you get what you pay for. The rooms are very small and the furnishings are very old. The room was clean. It took a good five minutes before the hot water would turn on, at first my wife didn’t there was hot water. The stairs and the floor in our room were slanted I guess because of the age of the building. Could not get to sleep because of the traffic going by all night. We were in the front of the hotel. We wouldn’t stay there again. But I will say that the lady who checked us in was very nice.

You stayed at a hotel which was originally built in 1894 across from the "Old Railway Station" and in the vicinity of the "Old Water Tower". Yes, the age of this building shows signs of being around for many years which gives it its flair. So are the furniture purposely picked to match the style. Mattresses, flatscreen TVs as well as toilets and sinks are fairly new. We are also offering Netflix on our TVs for a relaxing stay.

This hotel has a central location and free parking. It is an older property with some quaint features. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She helped us with our baggage going in and out. The stairs to the rooms are formidable .They are long and steep. The food is frozen fare with small portions.The breakfast was good muffins and coffee. The TV was on a Roku with few free channels and no local channels. Price, location, and friendly host made up for the lack of amenities.

We are preparing and cooking most of our menu items in house (except Onion Rings, Mushroom Caps etc.) and our portions are plenty. Some people cannot finish their plates and take the remainder home. Instead of putting small coffee makers in the rooms we offer complimentary coffee/tea and muffins in the morning for a good start of the day. Since Barry's Bay Cable TV was discontinued we are offering Netflix for our guests. A microwave as well as a kettle are available at a common area on the same floor than the rooms (no stairs required).

This is a significant, historic building that has been restored to a comfortable standard. The rooms are comfortable and clean Management is very attentive and friendly. The pervading tone is a welcoming atmosphere with a "you are very important to us" attitude.

Surprenant!
Il s'agissait pour nous d'un voyage en moto entre amis où nous faisions halte à cet hotel. Suite à une journée d'averse nous sommes arrivés tout trempés. La propriétaire nous a offert de faire sécher nos vêtements sans frais. Elle est même venue nous voir le lendemain matin pour nous donner des endroits à visiter et nous a offerts une carte pour s'y repérer. Belle attention!! Seul bémol... il s'agit d'un vieil établissement avec tout ce que cela comporte.

Wonderful atmosphere
My sons and I had the a wonderful time at this cozy hotel. The owner of this hotel is absolutely wonderful and extremely hospitable. The room was as described, beds were comfortable, shower pressure excellent. It is very homey environment. We had the opportunity to have dinner in house it was quite busy and a bit of a wait but the food was really good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone we had a wonderful time.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel una notte, di passaggio tra il parco algonquine e Ottawa. Struttura non nuovissima ma camere pulite e dotate di molti comfort. Proprietaria gentile e disponibile. Ottima sorpresa la colazione offerta il mattino con caffè e muffin al bancone del bar. Vivamente raccomandato se vi trovate in zona.
