The staff in this hotel were the highlight, very friendly people and helpful in any way they could be.
The building itself is very old and as such the rooms don't have a "cosy" feel to them. Mosquitoes were especially a problem - I would encourage anyone visiting in warm weather to bring repellant/bite cream, as we had to buy it from a pharmacy.
Overall though, the style of the hotel fits in with the rest of Florence though, and everything was kept clean.
Breakfast was a basic continental one, mostly cereals, breads and pastries + some fruit/yoghurts. Coffee from the machine is not great but you can get an espresso from the hotel bar.
It's a 15-20 minute walk to most major sites (Duomo, Uffizi, Santa Maria Novella), and it's nice being in a quieter part of the city. Accademia Gallery is just 5 mins away as well!
Dragging suitcases from the station to the hotel wasn't too fun on the uneven streets, so if you have lots of luggage you might want to get a taxi.
I would consider staying here again in Florence, it's a nice mix of convenient + affordable + comfortable!
