There was only one elevator in service, and with so many people it took a long time to get to my room on 5th floor, last night there the only elevator in service, the lights went out while we were in there with other people and we were in the dark. It stayed like that the next day. The food was suppose to be full breakfast but only had bagels. No lights outside by pool or back area.

The water takes about 20 minutes to start getting warm for a shower around 5:30 am and if you want hot water for the sink you better turn on the shower first or the sink will never get hot. They only have 2 elevators and only one works which is a hot mess since its becoming beach season. Since they have changed owners thete is no microwave in the rooms and went to serving only bagels for breakfast. Other than that we liked it enough for four straight weekends.

The day staff was very friendly. Would be nice to offer late check out. On arrival/check in noted the pool was closed, a lot of yellow warning tape; this should be disclosed prior to booking. For a quick overnight stay not bad at all and access to the beach made up for the closed pool.

During your stay we did have to shut down our pool for health and safety reasons, and we apologize for that as well, but your safety and health is our top priority. Our pool is fully functional and open when you would like to return to the Spark by Hilton Ormond Beach Oceanfront.

Was very disappointed that there was no microwaves in the room. We had no water for the first couple hours and no hot water at all the first day. Breakfast was only bagels and yogurt. No oatmeal, fruit waffles, etc. which you usually find at a continental breakfast. Overall a big disappointment for the price of the room.

We do hope that once all the renovations are completed that you will return to our newly renovated property.

The property is under remodeling and not convenient. No hot breakfast. No hot water for a while. No wifi for a few days. Then called us while out of hotel that needed to move us to another floor while paint. We had to give permission to go through our stuff to move to another room since we couldnt be there in 15 mins. Heavy machinery making noises all day. Was not a pleasant stay for 2 weeks. Will not be back. We stayed at this location when was Best Western for 10 years. After all that happened in first week, Expedia wouldnt switch us to another hotel unless we paid again or reimburse money for what we went through. One night... one night they reimbursed for over 2 weeks. Both places made our trip horrible. And again, we will not use or stay at either.

Yes, this place is undergoing renovations. But, I would definitely stay here again. Our room was totally fine and we actually spent way more time in there than anticipated after getting sick and having a completely rained out weekend. It was comfy and cozy and the balcony had amazing views. The bathroom was still being worked on a bit and the water took a while to get hot- and there wasn’t a trash can in the room- but overall it was a totally fine stay. Don’t read all the totally negative reviews. This place is trying and they’re almost about to switch over to be an Hilton. And the staff were all really nice.

The hotel changed their name to Sparks so we had to hunt for the hotel. Then we were told that they were selling the hotel and it would become a Hilton hotel. So you might want to keep the cliupdated on the name change of the hotels. The bathroom wasn't completely cleaned. The sliding glass door was filthy.

We booked not knowing The Mariner is being extensively renovated which for us meant a lot of disappointment! I chose the hotel in part expecting a breakfast including hot food but all they were having was a carb heavy bagged breakfast I couldn't eat. There was quite a bit of renovation noise everyday (some deafening in the lobby) and into the evening. The elevator was never vacuumed which because of renovation needed it badly. The parking area wasn't lit one evening we went out. There was no night visible hotel sign so we had trouble finding the hotel. Our room was nice in itself. The bed was comfortable and the view was great. On the downside our room was missing cups and ice bucket (the ice machine on our floor wasn't working anyway) and there were no balcony chairs even though other rooms had some. There was no "do not disturb" sign (our neighbor taped a handwritten one on their door). Housekeeping gave us new towels everyday but didn't empty the trash. They might have done other things but none were evident. The desk clerk the night we arrived was helpful but she said she was upgrading or from to one with a view, but I'd booked a room with a view already. The bottom line is that I felt overcharged for what we got and didn't get.

Room was big but not many amenities nor "perks" such as paper/pen, cups for drinking, no cold water to sink, elevator was very slow or not at all, at times. Garage parking was a plus but had to drive around construction materials to enter. When rehad is completed, this may be a nice property. Had to empty our own trash can. No info regarding WiFi, restaurants, etc.

Get it together
Place is under renovation witch I dont believe was mentioned in the listing . Carpet was in hotel was wet. Hot breakfast was just some scramble eggs if you get there early and some fake footloops.

The hotel manager Patty gives amazing costumer service. The hotel is going through renovations now, and hopefully it will get a new modernised look. It would be a big help if they start heating the pool a bit in the winter, as It is currently literally impossible to step into the freezing water.

I booked a oceanfront room. I was on first floor i didnt like that and I couldn't move rooms. No microwave in room i asked front desk if there was a place to use microwave since they serve breakfast they said no .i ask why there wasn't microwave in room they said only oceanfront rooms have microwave as I was in a oceanfront room without one. Carpet in room was moist. A dead roach on floor in front of closet. And the breakfast that was included with room all it was scramble eggs and thats it for hot food. Chex cereal and ganeric frootloops.

Comfortable Room, Great Views..BUT the Renovations
The room was nice, the bed was comfortable and the view was amazing....My only complaint is the hotel is under construction and they would start at 730am. I was there to sleep in, nap throughout the day and just do nothing. With all the drilling, washing etc it was very difficult. The staff was very apologetic but it was a little bit much. With that being said I'd defiantly stay there again AFTER renovations are complete. The hotel was clean, my bed was comfortable, the room was nice and they are dog friendly. The breakfast is not the best but overall great stay.

Horrible place to stay
Loud construction done daily over rooms. Loud drilling. They don't have breakfast like it says on here, it's only continental. I couldn't ask housekeeping for toliet paper because the manager makes them tell us to go all the way down stairs and ask. The pipes had issues so they offer juice, but I went to get some and she said come later I'm busy. The carpets are wett. They are here only to book for the "getto" they don't take travel or customer service seriously. This place is the worst customer service I've ever had and I travel all around the world for work. I've been to third world countries with better hospitality. The men behind the front desk are the only ones that work here that even try and the older lady but everyone eles, ruins the entire reputation of this place. 0/0

I found this hotel disappointing and depressing. I understand this hotel is undergoing repairs from last year's hurricane and will probably look much better when the work is complete. I woke up with a rash on the back of my leg that i didn't have before that i fell was from the bedding. On the bright side, there is some nice dining options a short distance away.

The hotel is being renovated and has changed names, although there was no sign of the new name which is Mariner. We had trouble finding the hotel. There was construction debris all around, and the stairs were badly maintained. The room was spacious and comfortable enough but the front door and glass sliding door were both hard to lock. The price should have been reduced given the construction debris all around the premises, including the parking lot, hall, and stairs.

Hotel said nothing about renovations on the listing to book. You get there and they give you a room that someone is already in. I opened the door and they were in the shower lol. The construction starts at 7am above your room and is the loudest thing I've ever heard. Bad time. Will never be back. The girl on Saturday night Dec 2nd was rude af.

This hotel is under construction. Only one elevator working and being used by construction crew. Workers are making noise and banging before 8 AM. Elevator floors are dirty and nails from workers on the floor. Room is a nice size. Hard bed. No microwave. Clean overall. AC and heat worked well. No dining available in the hotel. When checking in employee was quiet. Didn’t converse at all. Not welcoming. They should not be renting to anyone until all construction is finished. Was told hotel was sold in September and being revamped. No sign outside with hotel name. Workers hanging out in parking lot. Will not return.
