The property is victoriana and typically adapted. the rooms varie in size and are well furnished, the staff were all polite and always helpful and the location is good. I would stay again and would recommend it...... David Hayman

i would recommend an ex.room for space end front view after seeing into the smaller rooms.the staff also were very good and helpful,the manager was very kind as well as we were both in our mid eightys. The elevator is very small but then the building is very old but in great condition.overall i would recommend chestrhouse hotel for its position on the front with the shors on street just behind hotel.

Terrible beds, hot, noisy, old.
I stay in hotels 2 or 3 times a month and this is one of the worst in terms of comfort. The room at the rear had a window opening onto a tiny filthy courtyard full of pigeons and their mess. The bed is quoted as being a double but absolutely tiny. The mattress was horrific. You could feel every spring and it actually bottomed out when you lay on it. The bathroom fan sounded like a truck engine. The basin drain was virtually blocked. The edge of the carpet was stuck down with a bead of expanding foam. Room is very hot with no air conditioning or even a desk fan. Woken at 6am every morning by bins being pushed around and deliveries outside. Breakfast was good. But the dinner looked poor so are elsewhere. I don't know who in their right mind is rating this hotel as "good" or "excellent" as it's far from it! Much updating of rooms is required!

Lovely hotel
The hotel was lovely for me, hubby and our two young children. Staff were brilliant with helping sort little things with the children. The hotel was quite, clean and the room we was in 210 was perfect for a family. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was brilliant! Plenty of fresh food being brought out, hot and very well cooked.

Pleasantly surprised
Pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel. Room was clean and breakfast was lovely with a lovely sea view from restaurant. WiFi in bedrooms is a great perk.

Very close to shops and amenities. Great location for sea terminal. Parking can be tricky (not the hotel’s fault mind you) so be prepared to have to walk to your car if you have one.

Typical 3 star British Hotel
This is a fairly typical 3 star hotel in a nice position on the sea front. We had two rooms one had a nice bathroom and the other a small and less than well maintained shower area so I'm generalising in my comments. They have done quite a bit of work to the rooms in recent years and generally are fine, but as I mentioned one of our bathrooms was in need of some TLC. Good value though and our deal included breakfast. This hotel is clearly targeted at retired people.

Not a good night
Excellent service on check-in, good facilities, great location. Awful bed, thin walls and a vent right outside my bedroom window that woke me up early in the morning. Wouldn't stay again.

Near ferry terminal. Aging hotel, noisy.
The hotel is a typical aging 3 star hotel. Only a leisurely ten minute walk from the ferry terminal, right on the promenade, in a good location for both local shops and restaurants. Unfortunately I didn't sleep much as there was a lot of noise from a local bar until about 2am, and some kind of air con unit near the window which made a lot of noise. Then from around 5am there was a lot of noise in the corridor. The staff in the hotel restaurant tried to be helpful but some of their English wasn't very good. The carvery was OK, although it wasn't really clear when it opened, how much it was etc as there ws no information in the room and reception weren't sure how much it was. Overall though, i thought it was reasonable value for a one night stay.

Great location - not very comfortable
The Chesterhouse Hotel is in a fantastic location on the Loch Promenade. The hotel has character, and is fairly clean. The age of the hotel makes it interesting, but not comfortable! The 'double' bed was tiny, especially for two fairly large people. The bathroom was the size of a closet. The hallways were convoluted and very tight for two people to pass each other. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, while others were not.

Great place to stay for the Isle of Man TT
I stayed here for 4 nights, during the 2018 TT practice week. The staff could not have been more helpful for the whole of my stay. Although my Executive room looked a bit tired, it was always clean, with a comfortable bed and good tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel itself had a relaxed atmosphere and although I was out every day, there was always a drink to be had at the bar on my return. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

Very clean comfortable room - all staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you - very attentive. Comfortable lounge area with lovely sea views. Good choice of carvery and buffet breakfast - plenty of good food. My very favourite hotel in the IOM. Looking forward already to next year's stay. Last but not least the prices are so reasonable for what you get.

Room 214, small,noisy,clean.
Stayed 3 nights. window to room opens to area surrounded by buildings. Mechanical noises,birds, bar noise could be heard very well. Room is small but well maintained. Hotel staff were excellent. Next time, would like to sample another room.

Great hotel, perfect location
Only stayed the one night with 2 others. Having stayed in a number of hotels in Douglas over the years, this is one of the good ones. Had a family room which, unlike many, had plenty of space and a great shower! Breakfast was good and we found the staff welcoming, friendly and happy to help. Only down side was the heat in the room without aircon and the close proximity of neighbouring walls there was little air flow and very warm. A couple of large fans in the room during hot weather would help

Charming hotel on the Promanade!
For the age of this hotel it was still very charming. Our room was spacious and overlooked the Promanade. The hotel staff were all very friendly and professional. Very conveniently located to all public transportation and shopping. Keep in mind because of its age, the hallways are narrow so I would suggest small luggage only.

Lovely location good food and great staff. A little dated but comfortable. I enjoyed the Isle of Man. Entertainment provided every night in the hotel but easy access to other pubs and eateries. The quayside is very nice. Thank you to all the staff who could not do enough for you and to Peter the manager who swiftly resolved a matter for us.

Helt greit hotell i forhold tilprisen
Hyggelig betjening, men en liten labyrinth å komme til rommet. Rommet var rent og pent og egentluig akkurat som forventet. Det er derimot noe slitent og kunne nokk trengt en liten oppgradering spesielt av badet. Ved første bruk datt kranen av så vi ikke kunne stenge den. Vi sa I fra I respsjonen og dettevar ordnet til vi kom tilbake senere. Toalettet var et kapittel for seg selv det spylte når det selv ønsket. Så også dette gav vi beskjed om og det ble fiklset, om enn ikke perfekt, men man er da på de britisk øyer. Plasseringen var glimrende og fokosten god, med standard "English Breakfast". Ikke akkurat høy partyfaktor, da alle de andre gjseten var pensjonerte, men hvem trenger det. Det er nok puber og restauranter I området. Til den rette prisen kan jeg gjerne anbefale dette hotellet
