It hasn't even been a week since I left The Naturalist, and I am already planning when I can go back. I travelled solo for 2 weeks in Tobago, and Castara was where I spent my last 4 nights. The Naturalist wasn't even my original choice, but when I got there, was I ever happy my first choice fell through! My stay was amazing! Literally ON THE BEACH, this accommodation boasts a wide variety of room/suite styles. I stayed in the Tuna room, which has a forest view from a great veranda where I was entertained by all sorts of beautiful birds, my 'alarm clock' rooster buddies, and the lulling sound of the ocean. It's a smaller room, but perfect for a single traveller. It was so nice to have the privacy I wanted, yet the opportunity to mingle with others as I wished over a great light and tasty breakfast available each morning with local treats. Ancle the owner, Tracey, and the entire team are a great group of friendly, laid back, and helpful people who clearly love it there. The vibe is unobtrusive and relaxed, just as Castara as a whole is. If you are high maintenance, this is not the place for you! But, if you are looking to unwind, find some balance and just truly soak in the beauty and authenticity of Castara, this is a perfect home base to do it from. This is one of the few accommodations that doesn't require a good hike up and down the lovely, yet very steep, roads in the village. If you want beach, this is the place to be. I had everything I needed, and cant wait to get back
